There are many movies I can't even watch because they are too depressing and disturbing but then there are some that I just love. I am sure it has to do with excellent writing and acting. One of my favorites is 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?' That movie was so twisted yet so intriguing, and of course brilliant with the acting of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Another was 'Ordinary People'. What are some of your favorite 'dysfunctional' movies?

A Clockwork Orange and Angel Heart

First one that comes to mind is "Home for the Holidays" (1995 - Holly Hunter, Robert Downey Jr., Ann Bancroft, Charles Durning, Dylan McDermott, etc.)

Troop Beverly Hills, BOB & Ground Hog Day.

Harold and Maude.

It's dysfunctional becomes heartwarming and life-affirming.

Also, I like The Royal Tenenbaums and The Family Stone.

The only 3 Johnny Depp movies I like are dysfunctional:

Edward Scissorhand
Benny & June
What's Eating Gilbert Grape

Little Miss Sunshine! They realized at the end they were disfunctional, yet they were happy with that!

Slums of Beverly Hills is one I really liked.

Side note--I looked at this thread title really fast and my mind read it as "Erectile Dysfunction Movies". Of course I had to click on THAT...:rotfl2:
