Favorite DVC membership perk

I like how when I scan into a park the turnstile goes purple and says "welcome home." It's such a dumb thing but it makes me happy.
It was also nice when the cast members would see this and also welcome you home but that hasn’t happened in years for me

2 days ago at Magic Kingdom we cooled off in the DVC lounge and then was able to watch the parade in the shade of the patio of the lounge.

Right now I am sitting in the DVC lounge at Epcot charging my phone with a charger they provide because I forgot mine and my son is playing rock paper scissors with Nick Wilde. This is the kind of magic I love and I’m so happy DVC is allowing me to have many more of these memories.

They have been playing for 15 minutes

I’m a second class member and have never felt that I needed the direct buy member benefits.
I love being able to stay at Disney in deluxe hotels for a reasonable price.
For me it came down to do i want to stay in one or two bedrooms once a year and member perks/less hassle booking restricted resorts or twice a year and no perks. I chose the latter. Ideally I could afford direct on top of this, but I don't need that many points either.

Find someone in the hot tubs. I’m sure someone would be glad to take you up :)

famous last words..... :)
As I was typing this is knew I was full of 💩 too 🤣🤣 I know I'm going to feel some type of way and justify direct at some point 🤣🤣 for now it's cool but wait till I go to blt next year and can't go into the lounge. I don't regret my choice but I'm still secretly on the hunt for direct deal in the near future 🤣🤣

The one I really want to go to is top of the world lounge.

I think that's a good idea, I need to dcl network when im there.

Where is the resort that most people drink too much, i am staying at poly in september and that lounge is a short monorail ride away 🤣🤣

Love that at least you are self aware about it.

The room costs the same number of points whether you have "benefits" or not, right?
It sure does. We only go once, maybe twice a year, so most benefits wouldn’t benefit us anyways. But getting a good deal on a resale contract was a win for us.

If you go twice a year you can save on the AP.

We have 6 on our membership and buying 2 years worth of APs already had us in the green. Now we likely wouldn't have went to Disney to start with that much if we had to pay normal ticket prices but for you if you already go twice it would save you money there.

It actually doesn’t. We don’t get tickets for every day. Annual pass is more money than what we pay for tickets.

Also the amount we paid for our resale contract vs what it would cost direct doesn’t even come close to worth it for annual pass perk.

Sorcerers pass at over $1,000 i think is kind of ridiculous if you don't live in Florida and dont go a lot, but yes I can definitely see it saving money if you plan to go a lot. Especially since sometimes there are ticket deals.

I still think direct dvc should have some kind of discounted ap pass just for being a direct member, especially since most people it requires a plane ride and hotel to go there, its not so easy to just up and go.

Maybe $700 would be more enticing and i think fair.

We go to DL much more so I’d love if they offered a decent usable Magic Key AP discount. The setup now is stupid that you have to buy it in person and it’s hardly any discount at all.

This year we are going to WDW 3 times so we bought a sorcerers. I don’t see us renewing every year so lounges are currently my favorite perk. (Currently typing this at the DVC lounge escaping the miserable Florida humidity)
