Any suggestions? My computer is running SO SLOW, I can't get through all the information about DTD :badpc: So, I figured, all your suggestions are better then the website any way ;) Moderately priced meals work best for the budget, and we don't mind "counter service" if there are any. We're not big into long waits for seating, though. It will be myself, DH, and DD7. Any favotrite places to grab a bite in DTD? :wave2:

Well - I won't be too much help..... We've eaten at the Rainforest Cafe every time we've gone. The food is sort of like Chili's or TGIFriday's. The service is good once you are seated - but can take a long time even with a PS to get seated. But you're really going for the atmosphere! :thumbsup2
For counter service - we love the La Brea Bakery - right next to the security stations near the park entrace. It's fast and the food is really good. They have breakfast items, fruit, sandwiches, etc. The prices are ok - you're still at Disney - so it's more expensive than outside the DTD area - but very convinient and fast. There are tables outside, I've never had to wait to sit down, and you can eat a leisurely breakfast before you go through to the parks.

My sister and I ate at Naples last Sunday. We split the bruschetta and the Pumkin Ravioli (can't quite remember what it was actually called on the menu). Neither of us cared for the bruschetta (it was wierd--came with an olive thing rather than being the traditional tomatoes and basil type), but both of us loved the ravioli. It had a browned butter and sage sauce on it.

We like ESPN--have liked everything we've tried...

Jazz Kitchen (quick service--never tried the sit down restaurant!)
They serve beignets (Yummy!) and other New Orleans favorites like jambalaya, poboys, etc. Very good! :thumbsup2

Brea Bakery--good for breakfast too!

Have fun!

We always enjoy the atmosphere of the Rainforest Cafe, even if the food is not especially unique. We always have a meal there.

Love the food from the Jazz Kitchen, especially the beignets... yum!yum!

Ate at Naples many years ago and remember that we liked that too.

We had the best meal we have had in years at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in November. The food was excellent (especially the freshly baked chocolate bread pudding....we had to order it before dinner!) and the service was amazing.

We love Tortilla Jo's. If weather is nice eat in the Cantina downstairs, the menu is a bit cheaper. We love Ralph Brennan...to die for garlic bread! House of Blues is also tasty. Ok...I'm hungry now!! Marilyn :thumbsup2

We have also enjoyed the above mentioned ESPN and Rainforest. The beignets and La Brea also. Haagen Daz and Marceline for a treat. I saw them putting in a Jamba Juice when we were there in May, I would SO go for that! Compass Bookstore has a coffee shop very close to the DLH that carries Krisy Kreme donuts. There is a pretzel place we have gotten a pretzel dog at too...Wetzel's Pretzel's maybe?

We have not tried the "swanky" places as it is always just me and a 7 year old. :rotfl:

I agree. This is one place we always try to eat at when we are down at DL. The food is wonderful and if the weather is nice you can sit outside and watch the people!

You know, we go to RFC all the time and I've often wanted to try other places. One time, my aunt and her friend got real sick at the Tortilla Joe's and haven't been back since. But, across the way they've been to House of Blues and loved it.

Another vote for Rainforest Cafe'. We have not tried many places as we like to visit something we are comfortable with. We tried the Ralph B Jazz Kitchen several years ago. We not happy with service or food (we prefer basic american type foods). Also ate at the Bakery sit down and it was nice. But for safe and fun food we hit Rainforest almost every time. We also have the Safari Card and it saves us $$.

Here are our experiences:

ESPN - great place to have a late night snack or dinner with the kids. $ :thumbsup2

House of Blues -- yummy! And the wait wasn't very long $$ :teeth:

Naples Risorante - my favorite. They have risotto and gnochies! The kids menu is good too. $$

Rainforest Cafe -- we stay away from here after 2 bad experiences :sad2:

Have a great trip! :wave2:

The double chocolate bread pudding is one of the top chocolate desserts I've had in a restaurant. It costs around $8 and takes 20 minutes (they are individually prepared), but it was so worth it. Very different than what you expect of a bread pudding. It was nothing like any other bread puddings I've had. But it was a fantastic chocolate surprise.

I have to place a vote for the Rainforest Cafe. Best place to eat in DTD in my opinion. The wait is usually long for inside seating, but you can usually tell them that you'll sit on the terrace and get seated right away. I love sitting outide on the terrace and watching the action of DTD below me. In my opinion it's almost better than eating inside. And I love the food here...Rasta Pasta Rocks...but then I have a Rainforest here in Phoenix that I also frequent, so I'm very familiar with the menu and my likes and dislikes on it. Definately give it a go if it's your first time. The kids will love it.

I love the House of Blue's Voodoo Shrimp, and my DS and I enjoy the Rainforest Cafe (I like the lettuce wraps, my DS likes the 50-50 drink), but overall I think I liked the Jazz Kitchen the most. Of course, it is a bit more pricey.
