What are your favorite decor projects for your own home or to give as gifts?

I thought I would try to DIY the sparkly flame less candles that pottery barn has. I think I can get the look by spreading mod podge on them and then rolling in glitter.

We made drink coasters using washi tape and mod podge. DD gave a set of 4 to one of her teachers last year.

We've also made button trees using salt and pepper shakers, floral wire and tape, and holiday buttons.

I haven't seen anything on pinterest or otherwise that I want to make this year. We have craft fairs/church bazaars to go to the next 3 Saturday's and we use those to buy stuff and to get ideas. Two years ago I made snowmen heads out of a round glass bowl/vase and put candy in them. I used the stuff you would use to popcorn a ceiling, because we had left over and weren't sure what the person had used. Then I used puffy paint for the face and made hats out of fleece to cover the hole. They went over well as gifts.

I loved the little winter scenes I made last year. I bought at thrift stores (or searched my stash) for wide mouth clear glass bowls/ vases in a variety of shapes and sizes. I also picked up little figurines (gold santa, mini lamb, glitter deer, etc...) I poured Epsom salts in the vases and added the figures. The bonus was the Epsom salts were Peppermint scented so it even smelled like winter. I loved the result and will repeat it this year. It was so inexpensive to make.
