Favorite disney resort and why

Polynesian:

First resort ever stayed at in 1975 (I was 3 1/2 and really only remember watching the fireworks from our room).

Nostalgia for me.

MK and Epcot are my favorite parks so they are both a monorail ride away.

Try to avoid the buses as much as possible. Like I said above my 2 favorite parks are just a monorail (when not broke) ride away and we only do DHs and AK one half am each.

Love the sounds from the MK/Seven Seas Lagoon when it comes alive every am-boats, trains, howls, etc...on my pool days.

Watching fireworks from the pool.

I love the tropical feel.

Boardwalk has been my favorite so far. I love being within walking distance of 2 parks and we never had to wait very long for buses to the other 2 parks. The food options were good. The pool area is fun and I loved the slide!

We're booked at the Beach Club for our next trip. I'm thinking it may beat out Boardwalk for our favorite since it has a quick service and is a step closer to Epcot. Guess we'll see!

Beach Club has always been on my bucket list and I got to stay there last year. We all instantly fell in love. The walk to Epcot, the lobby, the amazing pool, the beach, etc. It lived up to the hype.

Yacht Club. The quiet but elegant atmosphere relaxes us the minute we walk in. We love being able to walk or boat to 2 parks. Easy access to lots of dining options & then you can't beat the pool!!

Wilderness Lodge has definitely been my favorite thus far. It was the first time I stayed on property, so I guess it holds an extra special place in my heart. The theme is just so fantastic there. Love it.

Contemporary Resort. There's nowhere else like it. Nothing else feels quite as much like Disney, either. Other resorts on property immerse you in their specific theming, while CR immerses you in Disney World, past and present.

when we were a family of 4, i would have said tie between AKL and Poly. As a family now of 5, we really enjoyed POR. It's my dearest ambition to someday stay at WL. It's so beautiful, but we just haven't been able to make it happen yet.

Wilderness Lodge gets another vote from me as the atmosphere there is just fantastic. Our next vacation is going to be our first at the Poly and we are really looking forward to that as well.

Wilderness Lodge. I love the look and feel of the resort. It feels like it's own vacation all by itself. I love sitting out on my balcony which the Electrical Water Pageant is going on or walking down to see Fire Rock Geyser go off. Last time we stayed there, I woke up before everyone else in my family (and everyone else in the hotel) and went down to the lobby for some pictures. IT was wonderful to just sit in a rocking chair by the fireplace and watch as the resort woke up for the day. It is also just so relaxing which is very welcome at the end of a long day in the parks. My only regret is that we never got a woods view room. The first time we booked it, they upgraded us to a courtyard view (and didn't understand why we kept saying that we would prefer a woods view - we were finally told that they were sold out so it was courtyard for us). The second time, the construction was going on so we saw construction on the new villas instead of peaceful woods. And now, sadly, it seems that a woods-view room is a thing of the past.

Now, that said, I will be at Boardwalk Villas a week from today and have been wanting to stay at Boardwalk since my college program in spring of '05. We'll see if Wilderness Lodge gets dethroned.

Boardwalk. I love the location, the theming, the pool area, and the activity on the Boardwalk especially at night.

Grand Floridian is our favorite. Everything about it is magical...the beautiful lobby, the kind cast members who go above and beyond, the dining options, the pools, the marina, the amazing amount of pixie dust we've received there. Before DH and I were married, we visited WDW and saw the GF being constructed. We loved the architecture and both said that when we had a child, the GF would be the resort for its first visit. About a decade later, we fulfilled that wish when our sn was 7 and the GF is now our adult son's favorite, too. We've stayed at almost all of the WDW deluxes, but the GF will always be our special resort.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is mine, without doubt. Pop, as my first Disney hotel, will always have a special place in my heart, and Bay Lake Tower, Boardwalk and Beach Club have their charms, but from the first moment I walked into the lobby at AKL, on my very first trip (I had a reservation at Boma. There was no way I could have afforded staying there at the time), it has felt deeply and undeniably like home. Now that I've got DVC (and have checked out the most interesting competition) I don't particularly want to stay anywhere else. And being close enough to Animal Kingdom to hear the lions is a nice bonus. :)

My favorite, is a toss-up between the Contemporary (for the same reason that Ewoks stated), and Wilderness Lodge. Unfortunately, being a single mom means that I can't afford those as often as I'd like, so we usually go moderate. In that category I love POFQ, and the Jamaica village at CBR (not sure why, I just love the feel and look of it).

at the moment my fav is pop centruy resort because i am one who like the history the food court is good and the rooms are nice

Value: PoP
Mod: CSR
Deluxe/villa: AKV

Out of all
, & this is close, I would choose AKV. The Resort itself is its own destination...Some don't like the fact that it's far from other places or parks, but I think the opposite. I believe that this is a plus IMHO...The bus system is definitely one of the best here, as well as the TS/QS & the Grounds...

Truly 1 of a kind.:thumbsup2

AKL was our favorite for many years ... until we tried the Yacht Club. Absolutely love the area and walking distance to two parks! We're considering a stay at the Boardwalk Inn this spring so we'll see how that stacks up.

The Port Orleans resorts hold so many memories for me. I also love the Grand Floridian. I love the theming and it is the next resort I want to stay.

We've stayed at Port Orleans Riverside, Yacht Club and Polynesian and have enjoyed all 3 for different reasons. Port Orleans has great grounds, a pretty good food court, a good pool, the boat trip to downtown Disney is nice, and the price point is much more reasonable than any deluxe resort. Yacht Club has the best pool at Disney (SAB), you can see the Epcot fireworks from the pool/room, and you can walk to Epcot, Boardwalk area and DHS. We loved the entry at Polynesian (before they got rid of the fountain), the monorail, and the closeness to Magic Kingdom. If push came to shove I'd say that Yacht Club is my favorite, but we've enjoyed all 3 of the resorts.
