What are your favorite Disney Christmas - New Year Holiday memories?

Theme Park/Resort/Event/Attraction/Meal/Family Experience - please share ANY holiday joy

My family will be at WDW from Dec 29-Jan 5 this year and for the first time, I'm struggling with how to give my family the best experience. I'm hoping your memories will help me plan a better trip!

Hi LeslieLou...so excited for you and your family! The Holiday season is an amazing time to visit the world...I did it for the first time on my most recent trip. There are a lot of unique things to do that time of year. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, watching the filming of the Christmas parade at the MK, Candlelight Processional if your family would enjoy listening to a holiday choir, and the Osborne lights at DHS. I think one of my favorite memories was resort-hopping and seeing the various trees and decorations at each one. Also, I had fun going around World Showcase and seeing the various little performances of how holidays are celebrated in different countries. Meeting Santa Goofy at DHS was fun, as well as the holiday Duffy in Epcot. Kids might have fun seeing the enormous gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian; I stopped by when a baker CM was doing a demonstration of decorating a small gingerbread house.

Make sure you take time to see the Osborne lights at DHS. I like to be there about 30 minutes before they switch them on. It builds up the anticipation and the crowd's response when they are switched on is the best!

Please don't miss the lights, they are amazing and one of my favorite things in the entire world, not just WDW! :goodvibes

There's just too many to pick even two or three. Going around all the resorts and taking photos of the decorations is a must do. The Osbourne Lights, actually pretty much everything TuneTownMagic does. It's a wonderful time to go.

I think we will miss MVMCP, but are definitely considering CP...thinking to go to one of the performances when it's dark out.
Santa Goofy isn't something I've heard about - I'm going to have to look in that!

Many suggestions to see the lights. Christmas lights are one of my favorite things about the holidays, so this will be a must do for us!

I''m not familiar w/TuneTownMagic, but I plan to look it up :goodvibes Sounds like resort tour is also a must-do...I'll have to figure out where that can fit!

Bumping for more memories! What made your visit over the holidays really special or memorable?

One of my favorite memories (not holiday related and likely not repeatable) was when we waited in line for Soarin' for an extremely long time and stopped right at the first attendant. He let my son work in his place, putting his jacket on, monitoring the cameras, etc. It was a really special moment.
