We ate at Napa Rose last night. A & B both had filet mignon. Huge size, done perfect medium. Mashed root veggies, potatoes, parsnips and one more ingredeient that we failed to remember. Was very good. Glaze was cherries, candied walnuts with a wine reduction sauce. Good enough to soak it in the roll after the meat was gone. The breads were a olive sourdough, flatbread with parmesan and a yummy roll, origin unknown. K & I had the short rib. Blackened on the outside, just right inside, sitting on a bed of olive oil poached potatoes. Very unique, quite a bit of spice, which contrasted nicely with short rib sauce. A very good choice, but filet was better. I ordered the Caeser salad, The 4 course meal was Lake Superior whitefish, duck confit, veal medallions and chocolate dessert. $85 but I might have considered ordering it but we live on Lake Superior and are snooty about the fish, plus I was too cheap. That is why I ordered an inexpensive wine, brought me hearty Zinfindal, that was $10.50 a glass. I know absolutely nothing about wine but still enjoyed it. We shared a vanilla bean creme brulee in a shortbread crust with raspberries. Could not have been much better. Server very good, attentive service. He seemed to enjoy us having a good time at dinner. The food and service were just what we expected to have at a high end restaurant. We were delighted. Total bill with CM discoount was $260. I just can't eat fast food all the time. Have to spend some money once in a while.
