Favorite dessert at Rose and Crown?

Never been to Rose and Crown, but going during our upcoming trip. I've looked over the menus of the places we're going and "deciding" what I'd like to get (only 4 months ahead of time) LOL

Anyhow....I've been looking over the dessert selection and I'm stumped. What's your fave?

Chocolate Scotch Cake can you taste alcohol?

Baileys Irish Coffee Trifle what is this?

Warm Apple Crumble - topped with ice cream

Frozen Vanilla Custard is this like ice cream?

Sticky Toffee Pudding what is this?

I work here so I can pretty much answer all the questions!

Chocolate Scotch Cake - No you can't really taste the Scotch. The scotch is actually cooked into the chocolate ganoche, which is just a thin layer on top of the cake. My personal favourite of our desserts, and I've never known anyone to dislike it.

Baileys Irish Coffee Trifle - Layers of chocolate sponge cake with layers of chocolate coffee custard, topped with a Baileys infused whipped cream. Very delicious, the coffee taste is not too strong.

Warm Apple Crumble - Quite popular, it's a nice traditional dessert from the UK.

Frozen Vanilla Custard is this like ice cream? - We stopped selling this a few weeks back.

Sticky Toffee Pudding what is this? Most popular dessert of all. Its a steamed sponge cake (containing dates) surrounded in a warm vanilla custard topped with a hot butter rum sauce. This is what most people choose.

Sticky toffee pudding! Without a doubt ! It's awesome. I have only been there one time, but I have to say...this is one of the best desserts I have ever had and I was so sad that I was too full to finish all of it!

I actually prefer the Bailey's trifle to the sticky toffee pudding, but I'm biased because my sticky toffee pudding is better than what we've had at R&C.

Thanks so much!!! I think I would have to taste the pudding before I actually ordered it though. LOL And with the trifle, I'm not a fan of coffee (at all) so that one is out, so it looks like it'll be between the chocolate cake and apple crumble. (probably opt for the apple crumble since most of the other desserts on the other menus seem to be chocolate cake)

I didn't taste any Scotch in the Chocolate Scotch cake. It was very good chocolate cake - but I didn't taste a hint of Scotch (so I was disappointed). But if they had just called it Chocolate Cake - I would have been pleased with it. It was moist and delicious.

The Sticky Toffee Pudding is hard to describe - but it was delicious! The PP's description is probably the best. I would get this again - it was yummy and different than anything you'll get anywhere else.
