I can't make up my mind which Deluxe Resort to give a try. So I thought I would come to the experts to see what your experiences are.

What is your Favorite Deluxe Resort and Why?

I've only stayed at the AKL and Swan thus far. AKL was awesome!! I'd only go back to the Swan if I couldn't get a deal elsewhere on property - nice hotel, but just doesn't say "Disney" to me.

Staying at both the GF and the WL in the upcoming months - can't wait! :Pinkbounc

Disney's Boardwalk Inn.

+Proxmity to Epcot and MGM
+Pool (that waterslide!!!)
+Boardwalk Area (Brewery, ESPN, Dancehall, Performers, etc)
+Gorgeous Theme
+Service
+Water view is the best view on Disney property after the Lagoon view (mk resorts)
+Elegant but not too 'posh' ala GF

my favorite resort! :3dglasses

It's hard for me to say but I voted for the GF. I realized on my Spring Break trip (Poly/BWI CL split) that the MK resorts hold some extra special magic for me. :wizard: I really loved the Poly but I've stayed about 7 times at the GF and it never disappoints. I love AKL too VERY much but for the overall Disney winner, IMO, it has to be GF b/c of location, location, location and the utter beauty and grandiosity of the place, while still be laid-back and family -friendly. It just is fabulous!! :cloud9:

I love all of the deluxe resorts, but AKL has to be my favorite just because it is so unique. Our family has traveled a bunch and stayed at some really nice resorts, so I want something truly unique and "magical" when we visit WDW.

I agree, being on the boardwalk, close to 2 parks and gorgeous rooms make it a not to miss resort. (Ive never stayed there, but Im planning to in the future)

Many (including my family) feel the Boardwalk water view is better than anything around the MK (the close up view of all the Boardwalk entertainment, and glorious ability to watch the Epcot illuminations fireworks from your balcony......

About how much extra a night does it cost to get a lagoon view room? Something I might look into on our next trip :boat:

I have no idea how much it costs additional to the standard room. I can tell you that we paid approx $306 (after taxes) a night last August. This was with the AP rate, and it was definitely worth every penny. I have more pics, and a pic of the room (which is HUGE!)

Send me a PM and I'll link you to more pics :)

I voted for the BW, as the area is just great as others have mentioned. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the EPCOT resorts.

What I loved about YC was how thoughtfully the room was designed:
1. A whole 4 drawer chest of drawers
2. The little storage cubbies/shelf under the bathroom vanity
3. Two lights over each bed...on dimmers!
From the pictures on allearsnet, it appears that YC, BC, BWI and GF share all of these features.

I love having enough storage, so that I can really unpack and enjoy the lovely room as a lovely room, instead of a messy place with stuff stacked all around.

I enjoyed the sand bottom pool at SAB.

I really liked the decor at YC.

This is a tough question. I haven't stayed at BC, YC or GF yet. I think BWI and AKL are my favorites. Someone already mentioned all the great things about BWI. I loved the theme, how room and hotel are decorated, it's so close to Epcot (our favorite park), lots of shops and restaurants right there yet our room was really quiet. For AKL, seeing the animals from our room was really neat, lots of activities, yummy Boma, lots of detail at the resort. I haven't disliked any of the resorts yet. I think it just depends on what theme you like and what amenities you want and what you want to be close to.

Dolphin - if it's the best price. (Grotto Pool #2)

YC - for reasons previous posted if I can get an AP rate (SAB pool #1)

I've only stayed at 3 deluxe's. Out of those three, AKL is my favorite because of the unique atmosphere. We loved watching the animals from our balcony. Bus transportation was superb! The lobby was breath-taking. The aroma from the restaurants was amazing!
2nd favorite was a tie between Poly and WL. I love the WL lobby and how the hotel is contained in one building. Love the boat ride to MK. Love the relaxing atmosphere and pretty grounds.
Now, Poly has great transportation, you can't beat monorail to MK and EPCOT! The pool is great. Love the music that plays as you walk around.
I'm struggling to pick our next deluxe to celebrate our 10th anniversary next year! YC/BC, or AKL or Poly!
