I am 10 weeks pregnant. At approx. 2:00 pm every day, I am hit with terrible nausea and fatigue that lasts for several hours. It has been really difficult for me to prepare a meal for DH, DD and myself.

So - I was thinking that what I should try to do is throw a bunch of stuff in my crock pot before the sickness hits, and then I can rest without guilt while DD naps, knowing that dinner is cooking!

Does anyone have any good Crock pot recipes (preferably on the healthy side?) I'd love to hear them!!

Sorry that you are getting so sick.

Check out the Crock Pot Crazy thread. There is tons of stuff there that should be able to help you.

I love Crock Pot Barbeque Chicken

INGREDIENTS:
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 1/2 cups tomato ketchup
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 teaspoon ground red hot pepper flakes, or to taste
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

PREPARATION:
Combine all ingredients for the sauce in the slow cooker. Add the chicken, try to coat it well with the sauce.
Cook on high 3-4 hours, or until chicken is fully cooked all the way through. Then shred or cut up the chicken, and replace it in the Barbecue sauce in the pot; mix it all up so all the pieces are coated. Keep on low till ready to serve.

Thanks for the link, and for the recipe!

Bellacam, is it necessary to defrost the chicken first, or can you place it in the pot frozen?

Sorry to hear about your morning (all day!) sickness. I've been there twice and I know how guilty it makes you feel when all you can do is sit and stare into space and concentrate on not getting sick while your child watches way too much t.v.! I am off to school, but when I get home I will look for some of my crockpot recipes. What things are sitting well in your tummy? I know for my a lot of times the bland stuff is what make me the most sick. Mexican food always stayed down though :confused3 ! The funny thing is that baby is 4 now and she can drink salsa like it's milk, but won't eat things like turkey.

Good luck. Take it easy and don't stress about the little stuff.

4-5 frozen boneless/skinless chicken breasts
1 jar of salsa
1 can of black beans, drained
1 small can of corn
1 block of cream cheese

Place frozen YES frozen chicken breasts in crock pot and cover with salsa, black beans and salsa (I also added a small can of olives). Cover and cook on high 4-5 hours. At the last half hour, place block of cream cheese in. Stir and serve!

Have you tried Sea Bands for your nausea? They really helped me during my second pregnancy. I wish I had known about them when I was pregnant with my first! I hope you get some relief soon.

Here's my favorite crockpot recipe:

CROCKPOT POT ROAST

1 – 3 to 3 ½ lb. beef rump or chuck roast
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon seasoned salt
¼ teaspoon seasoned pepper
(I eliminate the seasoned pepper, just personal preference)
¼ teaspoon paprika
1 onion chopped or cut into wedges if you prefer
3-5 carrots, peeled and cut into 1 inch slices
4-5 potatoes cut into eighths
1 celery stalk, chopped
1 cup beef broth
¼ cup red wine
3 tablespoons cornstarch
¼ cup water

Trim visible fat from meat and rub sides with salt, seasoned salt, pepper and paprika. (This is where I deviate from the original recipe in that I brown my meat in some vegetable oil for about 3-4 minutes per side and then sprinkle it with the spices.) Place the vegetables on the bottom of the crockpot and stir them together. Pour the beef broth and red wine on top of the vegetables then place the meat on top of the vegetables. Cover and cook on LOW for 8-9 hours or until the meat and vegetables are tender. (My crockpot is very efficient and my roast is usually done in 6-7 hours.)

To thicken juices, remove meat and vegetables; keep warm. Turn control to HIGH. Dissolve cornstarch into ¼ cup of water, stir into broth and heat until desired consistency is achieved.

I don't mean to sound ignorant here, but 2 chicken breasts shredded is not going to give you much BBQ in the end.:confused3

The easiest ever. Take a pork tenderloin (or some chicken breasts) and pour BBQ sauce over or any kind of marinade. If it's a thick sauce, you might want to add a little water (say 1/2 cup). Then cook on low all day. That's it!

I've always used defrosted chicken. I really like this recipe especially in winter for some "summer" flavor.

I second the Sea Band recomendation, too. I bought mine for our Disney cruise and used them during my first trimester of both pregnancies to ward of nausea.

Here's a couple that can be done quickly on the stove or in a crock pot.

Tin Can soup-

#1 ground meat(beef, Sausage, Tukey or Combo) brown with 1 chopped onion. I have done this head of time-you can freeze ground beef.

Drain & Add

2 cans of Chopped or diced Stewed tomatoes
1 can mixed veggies I use the VegAll Stew ones-Don't drain either
1 can Campebells Double beef broth
2 can beef Broth or one big Carton kind.

1/2 cup to cup of any kinda of pasta-

Cook on low til hot couple hours & freezes great- Sometime I add more broth to it depending on the pasta. Spinkle with Parm cheese if you want.

If you cook on the stove it onlys takes 20 mins.

My moms Sloppy joes

1 1/2# ground beef browned
1 can Campbells French Onion soup
1 Bottle Chilli Sauce.

Just keep doubling or tripling to fit your crockpot also freezes well.

I have a awsome recipe for Mac & Cheese in the Crock pot but it is at home let me know if you would like it.

This is so easy and quite yummy:

4 - 6 boneless loin pork chops
1 cup of your favorite bbq sauce
1 small can of crushed pineapple.

Put the chops in the crockpot, mix the bbq sauce and the pineapple together. Pour over the chops and cook on high about four hours.

Serve over rice.

Sorry you aren't feeling well.

I second it!
They've got some yummy ones.

Here's an easy one! Works with a roast or choped up stew meat!

1 roast (beef or pork) or choped stew meat
1 packet dry onion soup mix
1 can condensed mushroom soup (regular or low fat)

Put meat into crock pot, pour on dry soup then wet soup. Cook on low for 4 to 8 hours, depending on amount of meat. Serve with or over mashed potatos or noodles.

I also add sliced fresh mushrooms and onions, but those are optional.

I just made this "slop" the other day. It came out very good!

1 package of chicken (I used thighs b/c that is what I had but I prefer breast)
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cheese soup
1 can chicken and rice soup
1 cup rice
1 to 1/2 cups water

Cook 4-6 hours in thr crockpot.
