Favorite Crew Member?

Hmm.. I love PJ, one of the Head Servers on the Wonder. He is so funny and attentive.

I loved my serving team from my 10/02 cruise.. Dave and Anita. Dave would sing us a song every night, and Anita was the sweetest person you could ever meet. I noticed on my 03/03 she moved up from assistant server, to server.. well deserved.

Maclean is always my favorite Head Server, and we were very sad to see that he was on vacation on our 9/20 cruise.

Ivan from Croatia is by far our favorite server - always joking with us and making sure we liked things! He surprised us at the end of the cruise with a Palo Chocolate Souffle each (I had always wanted to try one, but I'm not old enough to attend Palo's)

Prudence from Jamaica is an awesome assis. server - joking with us til the end of the cruise, having our drinks ready the moment we sat down.

Mark and Adrien from England were both awesome servers who joked with us all the time - though they were not assigned to us, they always came to our table to joke with us and have fun. Both were so very awesome!

Ivan and Prudence are still on the MAGIC, Adrien left to get married but might possibly come back, and Mark just returned from his vacation. If anyone sees them please thank them for a wonderful time and tell them we say hi!

Just returned from the Magic 11/1 cruise. Our servers Romano and Marc were great. We were a party of 11. 6 adults and 5 children. They gave us great service and were friendly. Every night they would do magic tricks for the kids. At the character breakfast Romona made a different hat for each kid from the napkins. At Palos we had Marco who was terrific.

We had Maclean on our last cruise as head server and he was the best we've had. We could tell that several of the others were also terrific this summer.

So, far, Ante from Croatia. We didn't have him this time - except for breakfast once - but he recognized us right off the bat, remembered where we sat 2 yrs. ago & who he was assistant to at the time. He's friendly & personable & we loved him then & still do.

Also, Danijel (sp?) from Croatia, too, I think. He also remembered us this time & that makes you feel good. He made a bee-line for my husb. when he saw him to say hello & welcome him back, even though he wasn't our server this time, either.

We had George from India & BanJong this trip who were very good too.


Unfortunately, our stateroom host was terrible this trip. He never had our room done until after 2:30 pm & we often like to go back & sit on our verandah after lunch. The last two trips our room would be done by the time we returned from breakfast or shortly thereafter. He would ask if we wanted ice & then never bring it. He would put chocolates & towels in our kids rooms, but not ours. Then, the last night it was the reverse. He wouldn't replenish the soap if it were gone (only got one bar & when we used it up I had to use our reserves from home). He would leave dirty washcloths/towels in our bathrooms. One night we went back to the room after 10:00 pm & he was sitting down in the hallway folding all the navigators to put into the rooms. If I hadn't sailed DCL twice before (& 5x sailing total) I probably wouldn't have noticed all this as much, but having something to compare it to didn't help the guy. Oh, well!

I told PJ last week about what nice things were being said about him on this board and he asked me to tell everyone that the nice things said made him feel "warm and gooshie". He loved that everyone appreciated his extra effort. He was away of the board because of Tony and Barb (he told me a really nice story about them) but he took down the address so he can see for himself if he can find the time.

I also was talking to Miguel at the Coffee Cove while I was checking out the board and told him that I had read good things about him. He was very pleased. He is really sweet. It's a shame the place is almost always empty, everyone misses meeting him. Also met Michael Harrington there a couple times. Very quiet, nice guy who took time to talk to everyone and get to know the other CM's.

Alex from Diversions also was great. He ALWAYS had a huge smile on his face and always had something nice to say.

Michael from the Phillipines and the Promonade Lounge was also very friendly and a pleasure to talk to.

I could go on and on this trip. We met so many great CM's.

Every CM we came into contact with was excellent. Our room steward was Ida, our servers were Phillip (Croatia) and George (Bulgeria). They gave us A-1 service and were great with the kids, as well as the adults!

We also loved Jonathan (England) from the Merchandise Team. He took a liking to our DD and traded his pins with her and even gave her a few from his private collection (that's GAVE not Traded!!). Whenever we saw him he was kind and loved to talk to us. He and my DH became best friends LOL! Even sent us nice gifts for our anniversary and my birthday. Can't say enough about him - Terrific!!

Reading thru these replies has been really fun. We've been on 9 cruises on the Magic. Many of the dining staff has been there from the beginning. We have a favorite server whom we always request, but have had him with many different head servers and assistant servers (some of whom are now servers)...as well as occasional other teams when "our friend" has been on vacation.

It's been fun to remember some of the people I don't think of as often as our main guy....Rainier from Holland was an assistant, as was Tommy from Croatia (I think both are servers now)...Christophe is a dear, as is Suzanne....the list goes on and on. We really have not ever had a dining crew that we were unhappy with, although some are better than others.

The really fun thing last time was that on the first night, one of the other servers (a friend of "our" server) spotted my daughter as we entered. "I remember you! You were at table 68 last time and you are Mitcho's girl!" My DD was delighted, because from then on, servers were going to "steal" her away from Mitcho.....

Number 10 is fast approaching!!!!

Is Mauritzio still on the Magic??? We were lucky enought to have sailed with him on our 3 cruises - he is the most awesome server I have ever had. We had Tom and Darko on our Christmas Reunion cruise and they were the "best oiled" team we have had in all of our cruising. Our cabin stewards have always been remarkable as well although we don't always get towel animals the rooms are tidied on a timely basis and we have never had to ask for ice.

Just returned from The Magic on Dec. 20th....

PJ is now the manager in Palo....the best that there is....you just want to squeeze him..... lol
Our Palo servers this trip were Kristian from Croatia(for two dinners) and Kristoff for brunch....Marco is still there too...and
I can't say enough about them....we had the very top notch service. They too, are like our family now.

Our stateroom hostess...Kate....made the greatest towel animals and always kept the cabin in great shape, as well as lots of ice, towels, shampoo, etc. Like someone said on a previous post, she
was quiet...but made herself known...you always knew she had been there!!!!!

The servers in the rotation dining....Sylvester from India, he had just returned to the ship from leave, where his wife had a beautiful baby boy and Ivan from Bulgaria. THEY WERE THE BEST...Ivan did a magic trick for Natalie and she is still asking how he did that trick. She was always amazed that he could remember what she wanted to drink every evening. They were great and as most of the servers we have had, Jeff(now a head server, Ellen(now in Entertainment), Pema(now a server), Vlado from Croatia(has now left the ship) and Mark from England(we couldn't find out about him)...they were all members of our family before we left the ship.

Also, Ann Marie at The Outlook Bar and Danielo at Plutos....long time Magic CM's and friends.

Thank you so much for giving us an update on the crew. I was wondering if Andrea had ever returned to the ship after she broke her foot....I am glad to see she has!!!

Can't wait to see all the CM's we met over the years when we sail in February.

Hear anything about a Beckie from Canada who is a server...would love to know if she will be onboard this February!!

Mario and Gedde were our wonderful servers on our March 2nd 2002. Christoff was an unbeatable Head Server...he went out of his way to please us with every detail. But our most spectacular encounter and our families favorite person was Carlos our room steward. We hope he is still onboard we can't wait to see him in March on our next Magic cruise on March 20th.

We had Raj from India and Anton from Bulgaria as our dining room server and assistant, they made dinner fun and they were super guys. The kids enjoyed all the magic tricks Raj pulled off.
Darwin from India was our Stateroom host and he was such a doll. He took super care of our family and was so good with our son. He always had a smile and was very friendly. My DS (5) really enjoyed making buds with Christopher in the kids oceanner club. If he reads this thanks Chris for entertaining Davey!
My DH loved "She She" the bingo caller!
