Favorite counter service

Our favorites:

At DL - Jolly Holiday, Red Rose, French Market, Hungry Bear
At DCA - Pacific Wharf, Award Wieners, Corn Dog Castle (or from the Red Wagon at DL)

In DL- You can also get corn dogs via mobile order at Stage Door Cafe in Frontierland. We usually go here rather than the wagon because we can get fries instead of chips or apples.
French Dip from French Market is good
Fried Chicken at Plaza Inn, it’s big enough to share!

In DCA- The Wharf, we always eat here. My son likes the mac and cheese and sourdough bread at Pacific Wharf Cafe. If I mobile order I’ll order him the kids mac and cheese with bread on the side or if I go in to order I get the mac and cheese in the bread bowl. The best meal I’ve ever eaten at the resort was at Cocina Cucamonga in September. I got the chicken Cocina bowl and still think about it! We also like the margaritas and atmosphere in this area.
The worst meal we’ve ever had was the pizza at Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta. DO NOT waste your money!
In DTD- Earl of Sandwich is great, quick, and inexpensive. We also enjoyed Jazz Kitchen Express. Sadly the closed ESPN Zone which was our favorite sit down option.

AM: is munch until lunch - if breakfast - Flo's or Red Tavern

-Bengal BBQ is our goto for mobile ordering for lunch and nice dwell space between Jungle Cruise and our Indy times -- we tend to hit that section mid-afternoon before heading out with a Dole Whip in hand to DCA.

Dinner: French Market if counter -- Orleans if we sit down. DTD: Cabal or Naples on the go for good pizza there.

We are Tony Roma's holdovers and enjoy that once in awhile, but nothing special unless you love their sauce!

We always used to do this too, but our corn dogs on our last trip were not good at all! Super greasy and not the same. Major bummer. Hoping it was just an off day. 😥

I really like grabbing some stuff at cozy cones in DCA. It’s more like snack stuff, but really yummy.

I like bengal bbq in DL, but haven’t been to DL in a few years. Lately I’ve heard and read that it has gone downhill. Smaller portions that are not as good because they are cooked differently and prices going up.

If you do a table service, we like Cafe Orleans in DL. The Monte Christo Is tasty and easily shared by 2-3 people.

I second (third, fourth, etc.) the vote for the corn dogs at the little red wagon on Main Street.

I also love Jolly Holiday. Sometimes we just eat snacks for lunch, so the Dole Whip stand or grabbing a big piece of watermelon from the cart in front of Mark Twain is sometimes sufficient.

If in Downtown Disney, Earl of Sandwich is delicious.

If available, I highly recommend mobile ordering on your phone. We literally walked up to the Dole Whip stand with 20 people in line. I ordered on the mobile app and within minutes walked up to the counter, in front of all those people, and got my order.
This is an awesome tip! I had no idea! I don’t know whether or not WDW has mobile ordering for this, so we’ve always waited in line. I eat..lots of Dole Whips. Normally my H and I split desserts, but Dole Whip I’m not willing to share😬

We personally really liked Cocina Cucamonga in DCA. The kid's meal of the Cocina Bowl was a better deal than the regular one and was plenty of food for adults and kids. We also did like Boardwalk Pasta and Pizza. The portions are generous and the pizza was good. Definitely shareable if you want to try a few different things.

Hungry Bear in DL had some different sandwiches and burgers. The loaded fries were really good too.

In DD, Earl of Sandwich is always a must. It's good size portions for not too bad of prices. Take the monorail down there if you don't want to walk the whole way!

You can now mobile order the large mac and cheese in the bread bowl, FYI.

We enjoy the Plaza Inn, the fried chicken, and the desserts~ A family favorite. We enjoy Rancho del Zocalo. French Market.
DCA: Award Weiners, is good for a hot dog and fries. Flo is also good! Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta and Paradise grill , are great options too!!

We too are a WDW family who also goes to DL. One of the many things we like about DLR is that there are a lot more quick service restaurants then table service restaurants, and they are really good too. When we are in WDW we tend to do more sit downs over quick service, however when we go to DLR it is vice versa (mind you we do have our favorite table service restaurants that we always dine at each trip too). With that being said, our favorite QS restaurants are...

DL:
- Little Red Wagon
- Hungry Bear
- The Golden Horseshoe

DCA:
- Flo's V8 Cafe. We always go for breakfast, but for our trip in June we are also eating their for dinner too
- Smoke Jumper's
- Corn Dog Castle (as you can see we absolutely love the corn dogs in DLR)
- Cozy Cone Motel

DS:
Earl of Sandwich however we are going to be trying Black Tap for their burgers and crazy shakes :goodvibes

DL:
Jolly Holiday- Breakfast sandwich
Red Rose tavern- breakfast platter; flatbread pizza
Royal Street Veranda- clam chowder
Rancho zocalo- anything

DCA:
Flos- chicken
Award Wieners- carne asada fries
Cozy Cone- bacon mac and cheese

In no particular order
  1. French Market
  2. Red Wagon Corn dog Cart on Main Street (can be tucked in on right side before the HUB)
  3. Fried Chicken Sandwich Hungry Bear
  4. Rancho del Zocalo
  5. Jolly Holiday (also I love the raspberry rose macaron)
  6. Flo's V8 fried chicken was great with yum sides. I need to go back and try Plaza Inn again
  7. Ice cream in DCA: Clarabelle's (Same brand ice cream as on Main St) Love this location. Yum

I think it was mentioned earlier, but I forgot about the clam chowder at the Royal Veranda window in New Orleans Square. Last time we went, we picked up some beignets and mint juleps from the mint julep bar and brought them over to the Royal Veranda. It was delicious. The mint julep bar also had mobile ordering. The Boudin sourdough place in CA Adventure also has good clam chowder.

Wow, that all sounds amazing! I don’t think we’ll be missing out by just doing counter service restaurants!

Top two for each area:

DL:
Stage Door
Plaza Inn

DCA:
Pacific Wharf
Award Weiners

DD:
Black tap (a must, counter service/table service hybrid)
Napolini

You really won’t. Counter service at DLR is really pretty darn good by most people’s standards and much better than a lot of WDW counter service.
