We leave in FOUR days!! I'm SO excited. DH and I decided we really like the flexibility of counter service rather than sit down so we only have 2 ADRs and they are for non park ressies- 1900 park fare dinner with Cinderella and Hoop De Doo. Our in park dining will be counter service which will give us more flexibility as to where we eat and when.
I'm looking to see what your favorite counter service options are at each park since we seem to always end up at the same place ALL THE TIME! Not to say that's BAD but I like to try different options.
We do plan on hitting EACH park.

So please share your best (and worst) choices per park for counter service and why you love your best choice options! I've been all over "All Ears" Menu's but there is nothing like people's opinions about the food and why something is really worth it!!

Thanks for your replies!!! I CANT WAIT FOR SUNDAY MORNING to be on our way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

YAY for leaving in 4 days!!! :hyper: Here are our faves:
Epcot- Sunshine Seasons (Their homemade desserts, fresh salads, and rotisserie items are YUMMY!)
Animal Kingdom- Pizzafari (DH & I like to share a pizza & Italian salad. Plus, it's indoors with AC.) We also have another fave, which isn't a QS, but it's inexpensive, fun, & fast. We LOVE breakfast at Rainforest Cafe in AK. The breakfast pizza is big enough for DH & I to share, and we really like how calm & empty it is in the mornings.
DHS- Fairfax Fare has a delicious taco salad & it's next to DH's fave, Tolouca Leg Company.
MK- Pecos Bill's taco salads are sooooo good! DH usually gets the burger or pulled pork & piles on the toppings from their topping bar.

ETA: Oh, I just noticed that you're staying at Wilderness Lodge. The Contemporary & other monorail resorts also have great counter service restaurants. If you're ever on your way back for around dinner time, I'd check them out.
HAVE A GREAT TRIP!!!

MK - PECOS BILL!!! Lol sorry that place just excites me. Great burgers and awesome taco salads. :D

AK - Restaurasaurus

EPCOT -Too many good choices :D

DHS - both places get a lot of boos, but I enjoyed both the ABC Commissary and Backlot Express.

Not really a big fan of CS, but there are a few we like:

Epcot: Sunshine Seasons, Tangerine Cafe, Norwegian bakery, or French bakery

AK: two sides at Y&Y CS: chicken fried rice and egg rolls (not fond of their entrees though)

MK: Columbia Harbour House

DS: not a fan of any (usually run over to the Pepper Market at CS, where lunch is a CS buffet). If I had to choose one at DS, it would be Starring Rolls Bakery I guess

DTD: Wolfgang Puck Express and Earl of Sandwich

Here are mine...

MK: Cosmic Ray's. It has a nice wide variety and it's kind of fun to listen to the "bad" lounge music while you eat.

Epcot: Oh, this is a tough one...probably the Kringla. The sandwiches are pretty good and you get to pick a pastry for your dessert.

DHS: Starring Rolls...but I've only had the cupcakes there! :rotfl: I've eaten at the ABC Commissary and it was okay. Overall, this is the weakest CS park to me.

AK: Flame Tree. I really like the BBQ here and the seating area is pretty nice.

Everyone is making me hungry! :rotfl:Keep suggestions coming! ONLY 3 DAYS until we arrive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Something different to add to the mix: if you're at Epcot or HS, you could always zip to the boardwalk (walk from Epcot or boat from HS) and eat at Espn Club. Good atmosphere if you like sports, and the food is pretty good.

Another option in the same general area, you could go to Beaches & Cream at BC/YC. Get your typical diner-type meal plus a really great ice cream dessert.

If you are at MK early, you could monorail over to Poly for tonga toast at the fast-food place there.

MK-- love the Mexican food at El Piryata (sp?) when it's open, or the choices at Cosmic Ray's or the fixin's bar at Peco Bills.
EP--Sunshine Seasons, the Mexican quick service (forget the name), or the Tangerine Cafe'. Also the Japanese cart has a great deal for about $10 that includes an egg roll, a pork bun, ice cream and something to drink I think. I thought it was a good deal.
DHS--I don't really like any of the counter service here other than Starring Rolls bakery items.
AK--we like Flame Tree BBQ

Not a huge fan of park CS, but what we will eat is

AK - FlameTree -the seating alone improves this spot tremendously. We like sitting by the lake, and eating our BBQ.

Epcot - haven't eaten at a lot of CS, except, Yorkshire Fish

HS - no thanks, except starring rolls.

MK - we've eaten at more CS here, but Columbia Harbour House was ok on our last trip.

We are TIW, so we tend to eat more TS meals. CS at DTT is much better, with Wolfgang puck express and Earls.

OOoohhhhhhhhhhhh............ LOVE Earls!
Wish they would put one in each park!!!!!

Thanks everyone!!

Bumping..

Any CS have decent atmosphere?

My DD is dancing in the Christmas parade and with no idea what our schedule will be we cant really make ressies:headache:. We are not allowed to buy DDP which is making this trip crazy expensive. So looking at this as a dinning adventure as we looooove sit down options at WDW.

FYI: Adventureland's El Pirata Y El Perico is now called Tortuga Tavern but it's still only open seasonally.

People have already given great suggestions for Parks, ill just add two for DHS. We like Studio Catering Company. Good Buffalo chicken sandwich or panini there. And for dinner we like the BBQ pork sandwich at Fairfax Fare or Mac n cheese truffle hot dog.

MK-Columbia harbour house or Peco Bills
Epcot-Yorkshire fish and chips
HS- Pizza Planet (big piece of pizza with a salad)
AK- Yak and Yeti

Hmmm, best QS eateries?
In our opinion . . .
. . . Epcot: Sunshine Seasons (maybe the best QS in WDW)
. . . MK: Be Our Guest (Columbia House a close second)
. . . AK: Flame Tree (good ribs)
. . . DHS: Backlot Epress
. . . DTD: Earl of Sandwich
. . . BB: Lottawatta Lodge
. . . TL: Typhoon Tilly's
. . . Deluxe Resorts: Capt Cook's at Poly
. . . Moderate Resorts: Sassagoula Flatworks at POFQ
. . . Value Resorts: Landscapes of Flavor at AoA

Is the Tonga Toast really the same yummy deliciousness at the fast food place at the Poly? Should I cancel my Kona Cafe Ressie and go there insteaad? Do they have the Kona coffee there too??
