Favorite Counter Service Meal?

We loved Cosmic Rays in MK.We had the double bacon cheeseburgers ( huge, couldn't finish them) and fries. We had the carrot cake for dessert and it was pretty good, was prepackaged so not real fresh tasting. My so was on the kids plan and he had the mini corn dogs and said they were good. He had a cookie for dessert. We also went to Columbia Harbor house one day and it was good as always. We go to CHH on every visit.

I was very disappointed in Pizza Planet at MGM. We had to sit on a bench quite aways from there and the pizza wasn't even as good as some frozen. We threw most of the salads away, hard to balance everything on your laps . The oatmeal raisin cookie was great, very moist and chewy. If you plan on eating I think I will try Starring Rolls or Flatbread Grill next May and also try to get there before the crowds.

We paid OOP and ate at Rainforest in AK. It was ok but we don't plan to go there again next May. I had been to the one in Nashville and I think it was better. There are so many good choices at Disney that maybe it just made RFC look ordinary!

We ate at Sunshine Seasons in Epcot and it was very good. My DN got the chinese, my DS the kids sub and I had the turkey and muenster cheese on foccacia. They have great dessert selections and let my son get a brownie on kids plan, I got the asian chocolate cake ( my son wanted it and it was not allowe on kids DDP) and my niece had cheesecake. It was all good but the brownie ( my son and I shared our desserts) was the best. I can't remember what kind of brownie it was but I think it was a butterfinger one. ( only back 1 1/2 weeks and memory is gone!)

I plan on splitting our counter services the next visit as there is way too much food ! I really want to do this at Epcot so we can try several of the CS there.

I agree. The Rainforest cafe in Nashville is better!

My favorites:

Tusker House in AK
Earl of Sandwich in DTD
Pinnochois in MK

MK- Pecos Bill
EPCOT- Yakitori House
MGM- Not Impressed
AK- Not Impressed (Tusker House was great when it first opened and you could get beef stew in a bread bowl. After they took it away I stopped going.)

The responses thus far have been interesting. I agree that it is unique to find so much agreement on certain restaurants like Pecos Bill, Cosmic Rays and CHH in the Mk.

I'll admit that there were a few of the favorites that I haven't eaten at yet (Cosmic Rays, Tangierine Cafe, etc.), so you have encouraged me to branch out a little more.

I would be interested to find out which CS's are good among the various lands at Epcot. And somebody please tell me where the Tangierine Cafe is and what they serve.

Anyway, thanks for the input and keep the posts coming!

MGM is taking a pretty good beating here. we are not fussy eaters and our expectations are not real high for counter service. we do very much like the cuban sandwich at the ABC commissary. they also have a pre packaged chocolate mousse that is not to bad. i think we are in the minority as it is seldom busy but that may be the way it is displayed. you can walk right by and not know there is a restaurant there.

Tusker House - So sorry to see this go...
I am happy that there will be no more Tusker House. I went there last December and it had to be the worst meal I ever had in WDW and the service from the Cast Members took forever. Their Turkey Wrap tasted horrible and to my surprise it was served cold. Every other place I order wraps in they are served hot. I was so hungry after eating there that I went to Pizzafari and got myself a Cheese Pizza. The only thing which they had to eat was their Corn Chowder Soup which was served with the wrap.

Weird...I've never had a wrap sandwich served hot, only cold -- always with salad type ingredients, lettuce and other veggies, so it would actually be pretty gross hot, seems like the crunchy leafy veggies would be all wilted and slimy...maybe that's just a California thing as far as how it's served...

We loved Tusker House -- DH got the wrap and corn chowder (which was wonderful), and I loved the salmon. Glad we got a chance to try the place, since it won't be a CS when we go back. We'll probably try Flame Tree next time, or maybe the Yak and Yeti will have a CS area.

We loved Sunshine Seasons and Tangierine (chicken and lamb sharwarma, yum!) The tuna sandwich at Columbia Harbor House was really tasty, but the bread was really dry. I probably could have taken it back, but there was a line and I was hungry, so I ate it anyway. Wolfgang Puck Express was pretty good, I got a Cobb salad that didn't seem really flavorful, then realized when I was about half through with it that it didn't have any dressing. I'd like to go back and try something different next time.

Well every other place I have had wraps they did not serve them with the veggie items, so maybe that's why it was served cold at the Tusker House. :confused3

Definately Earl of Sandwich!

The tuna sandwich at Columbia Harbor House was really tasty,

Very! Went back twice during our trip last week.....smothered in Ken's Honey Mustard Dijon.....yum!

We didn't eat CS @ MK this trip, but Columbia Harbour House smelled sooo good

AK: def. Flame Tree...Pizzafari was pretty good too

Epcot: Kringla Bakeri in Norway! You wouldn't think so, as it is mostly pastries, but on the dining plan we got so much great food! You get an open faced sandwhich, ANY dessert, soup or salad, and your drink. It was fabulous, one of our fave CS of the trip!

MGM: Rosie's

MK: Turkey Leg Stand
EP: Turkey Leg Stand
MGM: Turkey Leg Stand
AK: Turkey Leg Stand

MK would be Peco Bills--I love the fixin's bar
AK would be either Pizzafari or Flame Tree
MGM ???
EPCOT probably either Cantina De San Angel or Yakitori House
DTD would definitely have to be Wolfgang Puck Express
