It still airs, but its hard to catch. Nester The Long Eared Donkey. I love that movie. Anyone know if its on DVD?

Nestor is included on the Year Without a Santa Claus DVD.

Also Nestor will air on ABCFamily channel on Dec 13th at 7 pm.

I love Muppet Family Christmas! You can never go wrong with the Swdish Chef wanting to cook Big Bird. I'll have to break that DVD out and watch it again!

One of the oddest yet hilarious christmas specials is "Pee-Wee's Christmas Special" Its like an extended Christmas episode of Pee-Wees Playhouse and it is so odd yet there is something about it that I absolutely love. This special is also available on DVD, I highly recommend it if you love oddball stuff.

What about all of the Bing Crosby christmas shows?
I looked forward to that every year..and I have heard his duet with David Bowie (Little Drummer boy) that came from one of the specials...on the radio a lot this year...

I remember one which was a remake of "It's A Wonderful Life" Marlo Thomas played the part of Jimmy Stewart.

"The Night The Animals Talked" and "Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas."

I have "The Christmas Toy" on video: I got it from an Amazon Seller last year.

How many of these do you remember...I love Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol(1962)..

Christmas shows

Funny they don't list my long lost favorite.. J.T.

That was Santa Claus The Movie.

This was on ABC Family channel last weekend or the week before, I remember watching bits of it while doing some housework. The kids were watching it.

ABC Family channel is having the 25 days of Christmas with movies every night and Saturday & Sunday are almost entirely devoted to Christmas movies.

Does anyone know if you can get this DVD at, say, Best Buy? Or would I have to order it off of Amazon?

I love when they visit the Fraggles!!

The two that I miss are listed.........
All I Want For Christmas. Thankfully, I have that one taped!!!! I love that movie!!!!!
Another favorite that they don't play on TV anymore, and I don't have taped, is It Came Upon The Midnight Clear. Mickey Rooney is in it. He plays a little boy's grandfather. I haven't seen it on TV in years!

The House Without A Christmas Tree...I think the girl main character was named Addie? Loved it!

Oh, man, disneyelaine--this is what I was going to name.

I LOVED that show. Jason Robards played her dad. I wonder if this one is on dvd.

You're the only other person I know that remembers this one! :teeth:

I got it at FYE in the mall, but have seen it at Wal-mart before. I wouldn't be surprised if Best Buy carries it.

The Yogi Bear one that was 5 parts. I haven't seen that since I was a kid

I loved Yogi's Christmas (I think I caught it last year on the Cartoon Network) and Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol! For some reason I LOVED Garfield's Christmas Special too!!

I saw Charlie,nj's thread about an old Christmas show and it got me to thinking...While I had never seen the Christmas show Charlie,nj was talking about, I remember lots of Christmas specials that don't air anymore.

As a child of the 80s, these were two of my favorites:

A Claymation Christmas

By the people that brought you the California Raisins (who make a cameo in this 30-minute special as well)...Funny with some great music.

Muppet's Family Christmas

All the Muppets -- Sesame Street, Fraggles, Muppet Babies, and old stand-bys like Kermit and Miss Piggy -- join together at Fozzie's mother's house. I can't recommend this one enough. Honestly, it's my favorite Christmas show ever! I can't believe they don'y air it anymore. It's on DVD so you should check it out if you feel like it.

What are your favorite Christmas shows that they never seem to air anymore?

Those are the two I was thinking of when I read the thread title. My mom taped them off of TV and I still have it and watch it (though the quality is horrible). I especially love watching all the old commercials too!

I remember "the House Without a Christmas Tree" too! I think there may have been 2 of them...the original and a sequel.

I also LOVE John Denver and the Muppets, and would give almost anything to see it again!

This is a great thread.
