So, what was your favorite gift this holiday season?

Mine is my iPad 2. I think my MacBook will be getting a lot less attention from now on...

The Keurig milk frother comes in a close second! It is so easy to use and now I can have cappuccinos in the morning! :goodvibes

Hope you all had an enjoyable holiday and many more to come!

Favorite gift was watching the littlest grandchild open his presents. :goodvibes

Mine? I think the iPad case with built-in bluetooth keyboard will be the favorite. Also got the camera adapter for the iPad which may allow me to ditch the big computer on trips. Will have to experiment with that next month.

Warning: Sappy moment ahead....

Honestly, my favorite gift this year was not physical, but a feeling. It's been a rough few years for me, and I finally feel as if things are positively centered and moving in the right direction. I have so much to be thankful for and the love I received from family and friends over the past few days has been overwhelming. I am just so happy and am excited to see what 2012 brings to me. :goodvibes

I also liked my new Disneyland Dooney. :rotfl:

iPad 2!!!:cool1::cool1:
And a beautiful Brighton silver bracelet from my son. He also bought DH and I tickets to Mary Poppins on Broadway in January!!

I got my parents a Keurig and that was fun too.

This was an emotional Christmas for me. Last year in December, we lost our dad relatively soon after a cancer diagnosis. And since it was December 13th and my family is so spread out, the rest of the month was spent traveling for various funerals (one in SC where Mom is, one is NY were my sister and I are) and to celebrate Christmas all together (all 3 kids and their families). This Christmas we were spread out again (Mom in TX with oldest sister and her family) and me at home in NY with my new fiance and his family. Other sister in MA with her terrific in-laws.

So my favorite gift this year is something that I was given throughout the year. I met my now fiance in February and we instantly clicked. Since we are both previously married and adults of 36 & 38, we knew it was right to get engaged in early December. So ... my favorite gift of this year is the gift my father most certainly sent my way ... my fiance Chris. And being able to spend this and future holidays with him, is the best gift I never knew to ask for.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas (or whatever holiday you happen to celebrate). And let's all look forward to 2012 with open hearts and minds :)

Best,
Stacy

I'm grateful that my mother is healthy this Christmas. She has had a lingering, previously undiagnosed illness that has made her sick for years and she has been in and out of the hospital over the last year. It looks like she is now on the mend and it was great to see her with energy this year!

I was also shocked to receive a kindle e-reader from my brother this year. I've been downloading ebooks onto my iTouch and didn't intend to buy an e-reader but I'm loving it!

This past summer my family and friends had a "Grand Gathering" at Beach Club Villas. One day when we came back on one of the buses, dead tiered and all quiet on the bus, I started to sign "Zip- A- Dee- Doo-Dah". Low at first and slowly louder in order to bug/crack-up my cousin who was sitting in front of me and is easily embarrassed. I soon had the entire bus (family, friends, and total strangers) singing and laughing.

One of the girls who traveled with us (age 10) found a "Hurdy Gurdy" (small self-turning music box) at the dollar store that plays "Zip- A- Dee- Doo-Dah" and gave it to me as a gift this Christmas when most of the gang was at our celebration dinner. We laughed and recounted all of our vacation stories for hours.

Best Christmas Gift Ever! :thumbsup2

What an amazing story.

Such sweet stories above!

My favorite gift was intangible-my dad had surgery for his cancer, which went beautifully, and the biopsy of surrounding tissue was clean He's in great spirits and very healthy otherwise-but he's also almost 70, and this was the year I really realized that we only have a limited number of Christmases left with him.

Favorite tangible gift? My husband got me a new Kitchenaid mixer, which was very indulgent and exciting :). I use my old one all the time, but it was starting to fail (I got it as a bridal shower gift for my first marriage back in 1993-lasted eleven years longer than the marriage, so can't complain!). He also got me a Kinect, and we were all laughing so hard we were crying playing with that Christmas day. And my best friend got me a gift certificate for a very fancy local lingerie store...that will be some fun shopping ;)
