Favorite character meal at DL??

The only one I ever did was for my birthday last week. Its Ariells Grotto in DCA because its a princess dinner.

Minnies at the Plaza.

Why:
In the park, so you arent wasting time getting to and from another location.
AWSOME character interaction.
Lots of Characters- typically: Minnie, Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Chip, Dale, Hook and the Fairy Godmother.
Buffet is served so other guests arent touching my food.
Good selection of breakfast foods - something for everyone!

We've only done Goofy's so far, and that was a wonderful character meal. We saw Sleeping Beauty, the Mad Hatter, Goofy, Max (Goofy's son), Chip and Dale, to name a few. Every half hour, Goofy comes out with a couple big boxes of plastic pots and pans, and gets the kids involved in a dance. It's pretty fun.
It's buffet style, which we enjoy, and there are tons of every kind of food you can think of. At least there was at late breakfast, when we went. They were starting to get into lunch foods while we were there.

This time around we will be doing Ariel's Grotto and The Plaza. But I think I will be adding Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast again, the day we leave. We just had too much fun there last time to not do it again this time, and I figure it's a good send off.

we've done both goofy's kitchen & lilo & stitch. goofy's kitchen, we did for lunch. lilo & stitch, for breakfast.

goofy's...buffet, lots of variety of food, more expensive, food was good, more "lively", could be somewhat "noisy" for some, although we didn't find it to be, more of a party type atmosphere.

lilo & stitch...buffet, as well as you can order from the menu, DH ordered a burrito, and DSs & i had the buffet, food was breakfast type food (i think cuz we were there for breakfast...not sure if they are open for lunch?), food wasn't that good, (i don't particularly like breakfast type food), the stitch comes out every half hour or so, and gets the kids to dance or do some hawaiian activity of some sort, pretty small place.

both our DSs enjoyed both places, just as much. if i were to go for food, i would pick goofy's...

Hands down Lilo and Stitch!!!

DD and I went in November and loved it so much we brought Dad back to try it in January. We are going back in August and DH has requested Lilo and Stitch for hi B-day breakfast!

Goofy's is too expensive! Storyteller's is kinda boring!

Haven't done the other two since they have changed the character's.

Thanks for the replies. Has anyone done Storytellers or Goofy's ???

We have done Goofys. We like Minnies better. The character interaction was lacking when we went to Goofys. They came to our table, posed for pictures and moved on. They all seemed a little tired or dull. At Minnies they played and really interacted. I also didnt like having to take an extra 45 minutes for the round trip to the hotel and back.

We have done Goofy's the most and had fun every time. With only one exception (a snotty Mulan back in September of 05) we have had great character interaction. I would say we have been to Goofy's about 10 times in the past three years, We have enjoyed the food there each time too. I like the fact that Goofy's has a wide variety of characters. You always see at least one princess, plus Goofy, Pluto and almost always Minnie, Chip and Dale. That variety is nice for my family since we have a boy and a girl. Over the years we have also seen: Genie, Captain Hook, Alice, Baloo, Aladdin, White Rabbit, and probably others I can't think of offhand. It is very energetic and but a bit pricey. My second favorite is probably the Lilo and Stitch breakfast, the food was great, cheaper than Goofy's and the games Stitch and Pluto played with the kids were really fun. But to be honest we have enjoyed all the character meals at DL. The only one we have never done is Storytellers, no idea why. So I think anyone you pick will have its advantages and disadvantages, so I say go for the one that has the characters you like in a location that works for your schedulue.

We have done Goofy's, Storytellers, and Ariels Grotto.

Hands down I think Ariels Grotto is the best. The price is approximately $21 per adult and includes an appetizer, a main course, a dessert, and a drink (non-alcoholic of course). The do have alcohol if you prefer it. The character interaction is great!!! It's all of the princesses. One reason I really like it over the others is because of the real interaction with the characters. Almost all other characters have to move around and use gestures because they can't talk. The princesses can talk to my girls and my girls can talk back. Ariel is great and has always been in character, pretending like she doesn't know what carrots & celery are, etc...

On our next trip we will definitely be doing Lilo & Stitch and possible the Minnie & friends. We have 3 trips planned for the upcoming year already so we may need to spread those meals out a little.

The worst of the three I have done was Goofy's. Although there were alot of characters at that one, we had very little interaction with any of them. We were there for an hour and didn't have goofy come to our table once. In the hour we were there we only got to see 2 or 3 characters (I think, it has been quite awhile since that visit). There was a huge variety of food, but it was pricey, loud, and in my opinion not worth the money at all.

We have done them all with the exception of Ariels. My favorite was Storytellers. It's possible we just had bad luck with the others. Stitch skipped our table at PCH Grill. The Plaza was nice but was out of glasses, had empty drink dispencers and was just chaotic overall. Goofy's checked us in, then left us waiting for half an hour while they seated walkups that came after us. When we complained they said they don't call you until you have paid. Wouldn't it have been nice if the person who looked up our name and checked us in had told us that :rotfl2:

I loved Disneyland but WDW character meals are much better. Storytellers just seemed a notch above the rest.

We really enjoyed storytellers as well. If it wasn't for the character interaction that we get at Ariels, then storytellers would be my favorite up to this point. It was hands down much better than goofy's. The food was good and all the characters made it to our table. It's also nice to see "other" characters. Not the same old characters that you constantly see in the parks. We seen Turk, Koda & Kenai, Meko, & Chip & Dale. I know Chip & Dale are always in the parks, but the others are more hard to come by. We were only there for about 30 minutes (our choice), and still got to meet those characters, I am not sure if there were any more there or not.
