What/where is your favorite character b-fast? I'll have a 1 yr old, a 6 yr old and an 8 yr old that is Autistic.... she does well as long as there are no "human male" people there. thanks!!

We've been to several and I think Best Friends with Lilo and Stitch (with Mickey, Pluto and Minnie when we were there, too) at Ohana at the Poly is the best one we have been to. I qualify this by the setting, the character interaction and the overall experience. Ohana can be more intimate compared to the open chaos of Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace.

The Princess Breakfast at Norway in Epcot is nice, but they are human characters and I am not sure how your 8yr old would react.

Also if you're looking for something low key, the Beach Club Breakfast at Cape May Cafe with Goofy, Minnie, and Donald is fantastic. The food is excellent, the character interaction is wonderful, and it also is not as "electric" as CM or CP.

is probably my favorite with Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet. It's a large place and the design allows a lot of noise to carry, but it has good food and I like the characters.

Our favorite and must do is the Tusker House breakfast with Donald and friends. We do this before park open and then at rope drop stroll right onto Kilimanjaro safari. We are trying Cape May for the first time this trip - I've heard great things about it.
I know there are lots of fans out there, but you could not pay me to go back to Chef Mickey's...2 bad meals there is enough for me!

Not only does Cape May have a great buffet, but it's quiet, and the character interaction is great and not rushed at all

I would have to say Cape May or the Tusker House.

The Tusker House has wonderful character interaction, but it does get a little noisy and rushed sometimes. The food is excellent, though.

Cape May is more relaxed, quiet, and not so crowded.

My son loves Tusker House Breakfast buffet, Cape May and Hollywood and Vine.
We go to CP for lunch and he loves that too.

Crystal Palace was very good for food & service.
Cape may I thought had a more relaxed atmosphere and wasn't as crowded, at least when we went, if you want that too. I didn't think the food was as good and there wasn't an omelet station but they have 3 of the main characters - donald, minnie & goofy.

My DD and my favorite character breakfast is Ohana in the Poly. There is Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stich. This is a family style breakfast, you sit at large round tables, and are not seated with other people. They bring a plate of fruit, tropical juice, types of rolls, and a large platter with sausage, bacon, potatoes, eggs, and mickey pancakes. You can get unlimited refills on everything. The food is good, nothing special, but good. I like this better then a buffet, it's just easier then juggling plates and having to keep running up to get DD and my plates. It's very relaxing and there are good views out the windows. DD has ADHD and she loves it here. They do a parade/conga line thing around the restraunt with maracas and the characters, it's really cute.

No question about it - Tusker House. Even better when you get a reservation before the park opens - then you can stroll right onto the safari when its rope drop time.

Thanks for all of the help!! She does fine with all of the characters except for the human male ones....weird.

I am just back from WDW and my first character breakfasts. We did Ohana and also Cape May. The party was myself, husband, mom and sister. All were in agreement that they preferred the atmoshpere (not as loud and crazy), the service and the food at the Cape May. Server was much more attentive than the one at Ohana and the food at the buffett was just fabulous. Have a fun time!

We loved Ohana's breakfast! Chef Mickey was more loud and crazy & Tusker we are doing this trip coming up for the first time so I can't say about that one...but still can't say enough good things about Ohana!:thumbsup2

My nephew is autistic and has very specific food preferences so we based our character meals on which restaurant would be able to cater best to him (although calling Disney ahead of time made sure that every restaurant had at least one thing available that he would eat). Secondarily, we went with the restaurants where he would love the characters the most (Crystal Palace for Winnie the Pooh and Friends, and Chef Mickeys for Mickey and friends). He really couldn't stand the princesses so CRT and Akershus were out.

My son has autism and we've done quite a few character meals with him.

Crystal Palace is awesome. Tigger, Pooh, Eeyore and Piglet are great, classic and so non threatening LOL They're just sweet and loveable.

Make a reservation for about an hour before the park opens, get in with no crowd, get AWESOME shots in front of the castle, and have a nice meal. Usually we get out a few minute before the park opens and we head right over to whatever ride we want to go on first.

Tusker House is awesome as well. A close second on our favorite list.

Crystal Palace: very good buffet featuring puffed french toast :worship:, bright/open atmosphere, good character interaction with Pooh, Piglet, Tigger & Eyeore.
