There has been a lot of talk of changes made to the Disney parks over the years. Some of the stuff we loved and some we have hated. My question for you is, what is your favorite change that Disney has made. I'd like to keep it confined to rides, attractions, restaurants, etc. rather than FP+ and that sort of thing. I hope that makes sense. So, for example, if you really weren't a fan of Horizons and Mission Space is something you ride 8 times a day, then Mission Space might be your favorite change Disney made. Perhaps you are terrified of heights, but your kids made you ride skyway every time you went to WDW. If so, perhaps them getting rid of Skyway is your favorite change. So, what change has Disney made that you loved the most?

DVC-if that counts.

Sure it counts! I just really didn't want this turning into a FP vs. FP+ thread. So, do you have a favorite DVC property, or are you just a fan of the whole club in general?

The whole Fantasyland expansion in general. I love that area, I love how it has opened up Fantasyland and made it less congested. Most of the attractions are nice too.

Probably the Fantasyland expansion. Though it's not cutting edge, the Little Mermaid ride is something I'd been waiting for for YEARS as it's one of my most favorite Disney movies.

Well, I think Be Our Guest is a real hit, from the design to the food.

Also, the new Haunted Mansion queue is awesome!

I loved Horizons AND Mission: SPACE so that's a wash for me. ;)

As much as I miss the small crystal store that used to be inside the castle, I really like the addition of CRT. Also if I was younger the idea of getting all dolled up at BBB IN the castle would be a dream come true, so I understand the change!

Yea I think you were leaning toward parks but this seems tied together for us.

The whole club really-but we are now down to only staying at BCV/BWV and some nights at BLT. Might try POLY and GF eventually, but we like to walk to any parks we can. Gives us quicker/easier breaks and we know exactly how long it will take to arrive back and forth.

It does suck us into returning to WDW a lot-but it turned out that we like being sucked in. We can/do stay at the BC/BWI on cash as well-but we like the 2BR's for kitchens, W&D's etc.

The investment has been pretty nice as well-even though not the intention.

I loved that shop. My parents bought me a little glass necklace with an iridescent butterfly inside it in that shop back in 1992 and I still have it. But, we are taking my daughter to BBB next April and I'm sure that will bring me all sorts of new memories.

I also have something from that crystal shop. A little Minnie Mouse with a little birthstone heart on her dress. <3

Be Our Guest... Sooooo yummy for lunch... it my new fav lunch quick service spot!

I love all of the new fantasy land.

I love parts of the new system... since we arent turning this thread into another of "those" threads... I'll just say what I like cause everyone has heard why people dont like it a million times. I like that you can book them ahead of time rather than having to walk to the entrance of that ride to get a FP.

I really adore Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor!!! I did like the Timekeeper as a kid but lost interest as I got older. So that's a positive change for me that I really like. I know this isn't about the least favorite change but since we're in the area I'd like to add that getting rid of Alien Encounter is STILL something that saddens me...11 years later!

I love that the World Showcase has embraced what it is...an opportunity to eat, drink, and learn more about cultures. The expansion of Flower & Garden and Food & Wine has been wonderful. I also love the changes that many of the countries are making for dining. Spice Road Table, Les Artisans de Glaces, Les Halles, Tutto Gusto...all great. It's one of my favorite places to hang out.

It's okay. You can say your least favorite, as well. I actually don't remember Timekeeper. I actually don't think I ever went on it. And I understand still being upset about things that are gone. I'm that way about Superstar Television and how Backlot Tour used to be. My husband, well, he has an amusing story. He went to WDW twice as a kid but didn't go again until he was 24 and went with a friend of ours and me. They rode Mission Space for the first time (I get sick on it so I didn't go). He didn't really understand that hoopla. He went on it the following year on our honeymoon and again, was not dazzled. Well, last year, he told me that he had been bothered by something for years and wanted to ask me about it. He remembered a ride that he loved as a kid. He was pretty sure it was in Epcot and it was about a family living in the future, blah blah blah. Well, it was clear he was talking about Horizons. I asked him some questions and we confirmed that it was, in fact Horizons. He asked me if it was still there and we had just missed it on our last 2 trips. I told him that no, it was gone and that Mission Space had replaced it. Well, as much as he wasn't a fan before, now he has some rather strong animosity towards that ride.:rotfl2: That's his least favorite change for sure.

The new Dumbo Waiting Playground. You get to sit and relax while the Children play. THe only tough thing is when your buzzer goes off trying to get your chidren out of the play area.

The shift from ride tickets to a pay-one-price admission medium. No change in the history of WDW has been as impactful as this. (Although without the former, our pop culture lexicon would be devoid of the term "E-Ticket Ride".)

LOL! That's pretty funny. I LOVE Mission:Space. I was there in '93, '96, '97, '00, '02 as a "kid" (aged 9, 12, 13, 16, 18) and I actually don't remember Horizons. I wonder if my parents just never got around to that part?

I do remember the Skyway and was sad when they tore that down. And I LOVE Animal Kingdom so I'm glad that park came into existence!

The addition of Via Napoli. Also the revamp of Star Tours.

I'll be there in September for the first time since Sept. '10. I cannot wait to see the new Star Tours!! And we'll be eating at Via Napoli so I'm excited about that as well! Woohoo! :goodvibes
