Favorite ceremony and reception locations at WDW

My friend is starting to plan her wedding at WDW. Im trying to gather ideas with her. What are some of your favorite spots you have heard people use for their ceremony and reception. Nothing over the top. She would have 40ish guests and wants more non traditional locations. Prefer outdoor for ceremony.

The most popular ceremony location is the Wedding Pavilion. We're having our ceremony at Sea Breeze Point because it was the most beautiful to us. Does your friend want indoors or outdoors? Would she prefer locations in the parks or at the resorts?

For reception, a big factor is going to be her anticipated guest count. I think Atlantic Dance Hall would have been my location of choice, but our guest count was too small. So we're having it at the Attic which is very pretty and intimate.

Sea breeze point at the boardwalk and yacht club gazebo are the second and third most popular ceremony venues, and both are outdoors. Epcot weddings are all outdoors at 9 am.

For forty guests, there are lots of reception options. The attic only takes 36, so that's too small, but Ariel's at beach club and Atlantic dance hall on the boardwalk are pretjemed and don't require much decorating. Living seas salon in epcot is beautiful and has the large aquarium. If she wants more traditional, she can always have a ballroom and decorate it whichever way she wants.

Our guest count is about 50, so very similar to yours. We're having our ceremony at Sea Breeze Point at night (7:30 pm), immediately followed by the reception at Italy Isola during Illuminations. There are a few drawbacks to having the reception there, such as no DJ until 11 PM. But we're excited to have it outside on the water.

If she wants outdoors and non-traditional, I'd go the park route. Epcot has a lot of unique venues, as does Animal Kingdom. She could then have her reception in the same parks, or she could do a place like the Attic. There's lots of non-traditional choices!

We had our ceremony in Japan and it was lovely. It's totally underused. We had about 90 people, but it would look nice too with 40 or so.
