There is a CM Peter, an older gentleman that works @ GCH. We had recieved a free upgrade to the Concierge level Nov. of 2008. He took us up to the sixth floor in the elevator, as we reached the floor he touched the floor level numbers above the elevator doors that lit up red. As he brought his finger down in front of my nieces face, his finger tip was red. I have no idea how he did it, but we all were amazed! He made my niece feel really special. :wizard:

Also, CM Chappy (I believe he's from New York) that works at the turnstyles into CA from GCH, every morning or afternoon when we came through he would call us by name. He's a sweet old guy, can't wait to see him again!!!

My Family and I went in 2003 to celebrate my hubbies and mine 20th wedding anniversary. We had dinner at Napa Rose for our anniversary dinner that we had prepaid for that dinner. Our waiter was great. When my youngest didn't like her appetizer that she ordered..he took it away and brought back something that she would like. He was really attentive and made our anniversary very special. My youngest to this day still remembers that special time.

We had the BEST fairy-godmother-in-training during our visit to the Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique in September. She told my little girl stories about her pet dragon and gave her lessons on what to do if a pirate tries to steal your jewels--to the point that she went into a supply closet, donned a pirate eye patch, and jumped out and pretended to be a pirate so my daughter could practice her new skills!

She was absolutely AMAZING! She brought the entire experience to life for my daughter and, I must say, the other little girls around us at the BBB were all listening to our fairy godmother in training because her stories were that amazing!! She was beyond all of my expectations and I am so grateful she is the one we were given and not one of the other (silent but smiling) women there.

Needless to say, my daughter was thrilled with the entire experience. (Oh, and her waistlength straight hair stayed UP for four days--I didn't have to do anything to it...it was like a ROCK!)

I love the idea of this post & I love all the stories so far!
:)

On our first trip to Disneyland 2 years ago, we had an awesome experience. We had just purchased some treats for our kids at one of the shops on Main Street. My son, who was 5 at the time, had just started eating his caramel apple when it slipped out of his hands and fell on the street. Well, a CM who was sweeping the street saw this happen and saw the disappointment on my son's face. Immediately, he came over and asked my son and I to come with him to get a new apple. He walked us over to the store, explained what happened and handed my son a new caramel apple. Then, he gave Disneyland street sweeper stickers to my son and our other 3 kids and took some time to talk to us and find out where we were from, etc. This was a magical experience for us. I was really impressed that this CM would take the time and effort to help our family out.

I love these stories, I think that this was a great idea for a thread.

I agree that the CM's really make a difference. They really are awesome at DLR.

One small story...We just arrived at DLR and were meeting our family for a mini family reunion. My older son was about 12 and feeling a little too "grown up" for Goofy's Kitchen. All the little cousins were having a blast with the characters and my son was acting a little irritated :snooty: and it looked like he wasn't going to have a fun trip.

Well, the Prince from Sleeping Beauty comes up and asks him, "do you know who I am?" And, of course, he says no. So the Prince acts like he can't believe that my son doesn't know who he is. Well, he makes a big deal about how cool it is to be a prince...he gets to fight dragons, wear cool clothes (I think he was being sarcastic about that one), rescue the cute princess, live in a big castle, kiss the cute princess (hehehe), etc, etc. He spent a lot of time with my son and had him laughing his head off. He had a perfect sense of humor for a 12 year old. He even convinced my son to go up with all the other kids to dance with the characters. It really set the tone for our trip and helped my son realize that you are never "too cool" for Disneyland. :goodvibes

I will never forget that moment!

I think someone mentioned him earlier in the thread, but Cappy is an awesome CM. We always saw him opening up Disneyland. He would get the crowd all pumped up and countdown to opening.

Another CM is Leslie, he is one of the guys that walks around with the broom to sweep up trash. We have seen him on two trips now at DCA. On the first trip we were sitting on a bench and he came along and just started singing and dancing for us. We saw him again last week in the entrance area and "Little Old Lady from Pasadena" was playing and he stopped right in front of us and started lip synching and doing movements along with the song. It was the funniest thing and so cute. You could tell he loved making people smile. :goodvibes

Love the "pirate story".

I think there's a little super glue in their hair gel. Same thing happened to my daughter's hair too.

THIS is what I'm talking about. These are the moments that will live in us forever. And all because of a wonderful CM

This is TOTALLY getting me and the kids pumped for our next trip. As my dd reads them she remembers more of her DL memories:love:

Nor will he, I'm sure:laughing:

Good times, good times!!!

these stories are great! keep them coming.

now to share mine:

DS (at the time 4) LOVES Crush and was amazed with the show. He sat right up front and had a million questions he wanted to ask him. Every time they were picking someone to ask a question, he was waving his hand really high and getting very excited.

He did not get picked.
He was so upset we did it again. same thing..he didn't get picked.
then again. and again.
after the 4th time in a row, I asked the CM as we were walking out if there was something he could do, somewhere he could sit, to get picked.

The amazing CM look one look at my son, in tears and totally heartbroken that he didn't get to talk to Crush and said "I think someone wants to talk to you little man"

He took us back to the front and then called "crush" on the phone and told him that someone very special wanted to talk to him. Crush came back out and had a conversation with my son! He gave him the nickname "Jammin' Jaiden" that my son still talks about to this day (2 years later) and answered his questions.

It made his day and ours too.

Oh that is wonderful. I got tears over that.

Ours involves several CM's in Pixie Hollow

My neice wanted to meet the Fairies, but my 9 year old son did not and the line was 45 minutes. My DH took our neice to the Pixie Hollow line and DS and I wandered a bit. We were walking past the PH entrance when DH called and told me there was only one more family in front of them, so they would be out soon. I hung up and told DS what was going on. The greeter CM heard me and called us over and offered to take us to meet up with them. We weren't going to 'add' to the line, so we said yes.

So we go in and DN gets to meet SilverMist and then Tink. We stood back and watched while she happily posed for pics. DS would have no part of it. While we were in Tink's area the Photopass photog asked DS to sit in front of the oversized mushrooms for a couple pics. DS agreed and sat for the picture. While the photog was getting him posed, I noticed a flash of green moving out of the corner of my eye. Tink decided if DS wouldnt pose with her, she would pose with him.....

He had absolutely no clue this was happening until he stood up and noticed her. She did manage to get a hug from him, but I missed that picture

Last month we went for 3 days. One the 2nd day we went to Mickeys toon town early entry. First character we saw was Pluto and then goofy. My DD (2) was going to take a pic with goofy when Minnie ran over and joined. After a few pics Minnie took DDs hand and led her around toon town for almost 5 minutes showing her a bunch of different buttons and things that make neet sounds when you push them. DW followed with the video camera and I had my iPhone out taking pictures. DD absolutely loved the whole thing.

A second story happened right after.

After the show they put on we went to get pics with Donald as my DD loves (maybe loved now) him. Everything was great until I told her to give Donald a good bye hug so the other kids could see him. She turned to do just that. Donald turned his head right then and his beak hit DD right in the forehead. She turned towards me with a stunned look on her face. After a second or two she burst into tears and ran to me. Cried for a few minutes like this was a bug traumatic experience. We saw Donald the next day and I asked DD if she wanted to see him again and she told me "no, Donald owie". He still says Donald owie when we ask her about Donald. It was hilarious an heart breaking at the same time.

I have two:

Last time I was in the parks I managed to injure my foot and was forced on an ECV.

I had managed to get three Toontown Morning Madness tickets for me, my room mate and her daughter. Then on the morning when we had planned to go to TTMM they decided they'd rather not go.

I told myself hey, I went through a lot of trouble to get those tickets, I'll go on my own and at least watch the show and get some autographs in my book. Usually I have no problem asking others to take my photo, but it was a rainy morning and I figured Toontown would be very empty.

And I was right, Toontown was practically deserted.

So I went to Pluto's line. One of the assistants from the show was with him, I figured she'd take a photo for me. She approached me when I was waiting and quickly realized I was alone.

When I had seen Pluto she insisted on accompanying me around and took my photo with every character so I wouldn't miss out on something. She made sure to snap a lot of photos of me interacting with the characters and even took the time to go through my autograph book with Chip - I had made one of these self print ones from Shutterfly with pictures from old trips.

Went straight to City Hall to fill in a complimentary card from her once Morning Madness was over.

It's really funny: The second one involves the very same young lady in green on the picture above. LOL

I was in line for Pixie Hollow a couple of times because I wanted to get my drawings signed by all fairies. I had met Tink last year already and she was adorable, or as my room mate put it "tinky". ;)

So she noticed me, and after almost a year went: "I remember you! You are from Germany! You gave me that cool pin last year!" I just stood there with my mouth open. Vidia was with her, and she dragged Vidia over and made me show them all the pins I had on my lanyard this time. Finally she spotted my birthday button, squealed "Wait, I want to give you a gift too!", disappeared in the surroundings and came back with a small flower for me.

It was just amazing.

What a great topic. Thanks for starting it. I have one I would like to share.

In 2008 we took the kids on a 4 day trip to DL for their very first time. My DD was turning 5 at the time and she knew the existence of DL since age 4 through her preschool classmates. She (a huge princess fan) patiently waited until our DS would grow older so he could enjoy the visit too. We went in mid June before any AP block out dates and it happened to be in the middle of a heat wave too. So you can imagine it was darn hot but we didn't care...we were at DL. It was insanely crowded...but we didn't care too because we were in DL. Because we got up late each day, we got maybe 5 rides done in a day. And still we didn't care...we were in DL!

On day 3 we got to the parks late as usual and it happens to be my DD's birthday. Because of tips from this board, we went straight to city hall to get her a B-day button. I guess we got there too late because they ran out of buttons so they gave her a B-day sticker. No big deal because she received birthday wishes throughout the day in the park. The magical moment came in mid afternoon as we were strolling over the bridge to the entrance of the POTC. We were stopped by an older lady CM who asked us how we were doing. We were already starting to feel the afternoon slump, being hot and tired. She greeted my DD with a B-day wish and noticed she only had a sticker for a button. Out of her pocket she pulled out a real B-day button and upgraded her! Then she asked if we met any characters. We told her we tried to find princesses for an autograph but found none so far. The CM then pulled out a book and began filling out a certificate for her. She then instructed my DD to head to the Princess Fantasy Fair at the end of the next show and bring the certificate. That’s when we met the CM again and it turned out she was granted a 5 minute face to face private meeting with Cinderella and Belle!! Talk about an unforgettable moment! My DD was literally speechless during the private greet. However, she got her autographs and we took many pictures of the moment. Talk about meeting a fairy god-mother!

Since then we’ve been back to DL every year after. Every time I think about what the CM did, I still get all teary eyed. If I can find out who this CM was, I'm going to give her a big hug next time I see her. And will definitely fill out a nice comment card too if I can find out her name. We still have that certificate and I think the CM's signature might be on it.

I don't have a story but did want to say one of the best cast members we have come across has to be hands down Jerry who worked the Paradise Pier Concierge about 2 years ago or so. He was so awesome we took pictures with him and I think i posted them on the food porn thread about all of the concierge food avail etc. He was very memorable and my kids loved him!
When we went back not to long ago we were told the cast members trade off positions or something so we may not see him doing that again... don't know how true that was but darn!

This is the best!!!! Crush is an awesome dude. When asked what my son's name was, the next question was....."what do you hunt?" my son's name of course is Hunter.:lmao:
