I had the Tonga Toast with bacon at Captain Cooks last week. I love all things breakfast and everything bread so was prepared for a treat. Instead I was served a 3x3 greasy cube, impossible to cut with CC's plastic utensils. I tore off a hunk, splattering myself with sugar and butter. It was edible, just, a strange combination of crusty butter-soaked exterior and soggy butter-soaked interior with a thin layer of slimy bananas. The bacon both overdone and soft. I chalked it up to eating breakfast at 10 am and being served food that had apparently been prepared hours earlier. Two bites of toast and one bite of bacon is enough for anyone, right?
I would have taken my tray back for a refund, but the cashiers weren't any rays of sunshine themselves. It was one of those "so horrible, it's funny" meals.
Two days later I had a lovely kids meal for lunch with delightful servers.
