Just thought it would be fun to see what everyones favorite meal or snack/drink has been on the various airlines! I consider the flight to be part of the fun and enjoy the various tid bits of food:) My overall favorite has been with Air New Zealand last year when we came over to WDW from Australia. We flew premium economy and the food was restaurant quality!!
I had the best steak I have ever had, a wonderful gourmet pie, yummy banana pancake, and delish New Zealand Ice cream.
On United and American west (our internal connecting flights) I love the cranapple juice.....we don't have that her in Australia, so I get my fix while flying:) Their snacks however are a bit boring!!! So, what does everyone else enjoy while flying:)

Gee, I haven't had a real meal on a flight in I don't remember how long!!!

Since I only ever get snacks, I vote for either the Dorito Snack Mix or the Terra Blue Chips served by Jet Blue.

I like the Cheez Nips on Southwest

Glad to hear about Air New Zealand because I am flying them in January but I don't think it's premium anything. Nor would I want steak.

I suspect that the majority of posters here fly US domestic short-haul in economy class, OP, which means no food service at all or a very limited selection of buy on board junk food or snacks. Even the complimentary nuts or pretzels or Biscoff are going away on most carriers. Many posters have also said over the years that they would trader higher fares for no meal service. As a result, you may not get that many answers, as airline meals are virtually a thing of the past in the US, unless flying in C/F or internationally.

I like Lufthansa meals in F most of the time; their Asian Veg meals in C/F are often very tasty. And I like the chocolate assortment they give out during flights; brands vary from week to week and month to month.

JetAirways does an excellent selection of curries in F; usually 2-3 choices even on short haul domestic routes.

For economy class meals I like Lufthansa's Laugensemmel ('pretzel bread') with cheese, accompanied by a small chocolate bar or granola bar (Balisto is my preference)

I also like the fact that SWISS serves Mövenpick ice cream (although I can't eat it) and Swiss chocolate bars.

On US flights, I liked the hot nuts on UA but those are gone, as is the ice cream sundae (which again I could not eat, but it was a good idea)

Favorite airline food? Biscoff.

We fly almost exclusively on short domestic flights so we seldom get an actual meal.

Well its not food, but I loved getting Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee on our Air Jamaica flight. I'm not much of a coffee drinker but that stuff is amazing.

Best food international flights would have to be Business Class on Asiana Airlines. They are constantly pushing a trolley by with either breads or baked goods. The salmon and caviar dish was wonderful as well was the cheese and petit four plate. While wonderful, I didn't sleep at all on my flight from Seoul to New York coz I was afraid I'd miss something!

When I fly on economy on Asiana, I love to get the traditional Korean noodle dish. I don't know what its called. They give you a bowl and you add the broth, and its full of noodles and veggies. Yummy. They also have really good yougurt.

Domestically, I like how on JetBlue they let you choose a variety of snacks from the snack basket. If the flight is really empty, they pile you up with all sorts of snacks. They have a good salty mix.

Right! My favorite food is whatever I bring myself. But the airline Cokes are usually a pretty good vintage.

I was pleasantly surprised by the meals I had on recent KLM flights. The pasta was tasty and one of the desserts was a chocolate marshmallow thing that was very rich and yummy. I was surprised to have 2 meals served on each transatlantic flight and free wine--and this was in coach!

i've only flown domestic, but my fave food was an awesome turkey craisin wrap that i bought on an alaska air/american air flight to seattle... it was surprisingly fresh and incredibly tasty... or else i was ridiculously hungry (but really, that wasn't the case! LOL!) it was good and i've tried to duplicate it at home to no avail!

another sweet treat is midwest air serves "fresh baked" hot cookies as well as other "fresh baked" pastries on their flights... the smell alone lures you into the plane!

Someone reported here that the 'new' Midwest has limited the number of cookies allowed per passenger ie maximum one. Sadly the cookie and the name are all that are left of Midwest, and if the trend continues one day soon the cookies may go the way of the cookies on United flights - out the door, never to be seen again.

I think my inflight breakfast of champions is a packet of Biscoff and some coffee with Baileys. Mmmmmm...

My usual flight is PVD-MCO in coach. I'm Silver on USAirways, though, so if I'm flying them I more often than not get upgraded to First. That doesn't get me anything other than free booze and choice of snacks, though.

For buy-on-board, I actually like United's snack boxes. I bought the one with hummus and lemon pepper tuna (right bite?) and it was greatly appreciated when my connection was too tight to grab something at the airport.

I've only been on a couple of "meal food" itineraries recently: PHL-CDG and BCN-PHL on USAir (in Y) last summer (I only remember gummy pasta and "Dave's Buttermilk Bar" and both were at least edible) and CVG-SNA, SLC-BOS on Delta in First this spring (food noticeably better than the aforementioned USAir flight).

Airline food? What is that? :confused3 :confused3

The last time I got fed on a flight was back in 1994 on a flight from Orlando to Minneapolis. We got served some kind of alfredo pasta dish and an Eskimo bar for dessert. Can't remember if it was any good.

On my upcoming trip we will be in first class so we shall see what gets served.
