Favorit DLR souvenirs......???

Sherry,
I loved looking at all of your holiday collectables! I am a sucker for those too! I especially love the candy house.:goodvibes

Oh wow, all those holiday items are so fun, Sherry! I really like those mugs, too.

My very favorite souvenirs we have gotten are the names painted in Disney characters that we got at Fairytale Scripts. We got one for each child, and I have them hanging up in their rooms. The silhouettes are a fun keepsake, too. We also enjoy collecting pins.

Thanks! I love those holiday things too! Because I used to be such a souvenir fanatic in the old days and was just buying all kinds of stuff, I had to really scale it waaaaay back. So now, I really buy very, very little and I am selective. Sure, there are tons of cute things in DLR to buy, but I try to just wait until something really jumps out at me. I may end up only getting one small item at DLR for the entire trip, or I may get 5 things, but they have to really grab me. Or, I may buy a bunch of Halloween knick-knacks one year and then not get anything Halloween-esque for the next few trips. It's not that I couldn't find anything that I like, but I just have to be cautious and choosy.

I was really, really fond of that whole line of gingerbread cookie-candy-ice cream Christmas stuff, so you can see in the photos that I went nuts on buying up all kinds of things with that theme. I love all those things so much! I love Disney collectibles that look like food, so if there is a Mickey ornament that looks just like a cookie, chances are I will buy it!!:rotfl2:

I agree - I love the candy/cookie Castle, also. That is probably my favorite thing out of that whole cookie-candy Christmas line of items (along with the Mickey and Minnie magnets on the cookie sheet). Technically, the cookie/candy castle is an ornament. It has a little ribbon on it for tree hanging. But, let's face it - it's really a mini-sculpture. And I absolutely adore the details of it - not just the peppermint candy hidden Mickeys, but also the way it's painted is intended to look like a slightly imperfect icing/decorating job - like what you would create if you actually baked a cookie/candy Castle and decorated it yourself!! It would look a bit imperfect on a real-life cookie house/Castle, so they painted the fake one to look like that too! Another example of Disney's great attention to detail!
