Shirley - I'm not sure whether your browser makes a difference to how you use these (too technical for me!) but I can use the Mickey and Minnie by just clicking on them - they are automatically inserted into my post like this

But there does seem to be a problem with the pirate because it begins with a 'p'!

If you need to type the code in, you'll need a double colon - :: - before Mickey and Minnie to get them to work, I think.
