I'm planning on putting my down pmt. for DVC in next week or 2. Still contemplating whether to split up points for 11 month window at SSR and ???
I have DD8 and DS4, can anyone else with similar aged kids recommend which DVC resorts seem to be children's favorites
THanks for all your help!!!

You may just have to go with SSR.

Most of the other resorts are sold out. Have you already spoken with a guide about points being available at other resorts?

Our kids like VWL but I know that is sold out.

I think you'll get a lot of varied responses because everyone has their favorite. You can't go wrong with BCV for kids because of SAB. I'm not sure if there are pts left at BCV, though.

Good luck and let us know what you do.:D

When I was talking about splitting points with my guide he never said there was none available however he was pretty discouraging of the idea so that was probably why.
The more I think of it considering my kids have never been to Disney and DH and I have never stayed at a hotel/motel that cost more than $79 a night I figure we're going to be blown away with any resort, any pool, and all the parks so the main thing is to get the points we'll be happy wherever I'm sure:)

I think you're right.

Any DVC resort is going to be great!!

I'm sure you can get a little more detailed info from your guide regarding what's available.

We just added on at SSR. We have 4 different contracts at 4 different resorts and I think it might get a little crazy trying to keep track of everything so maybe that's why your guide discouraged you from buying at 2 places.

SSR looks like it is going to be BEAUTIFUL!!

Another plus for SSR is that the contract will last longer than at the other 4 resorts, so you'll be able to enjoy it longer with your family.

I don't think you'll be able to buy anywhere else but at SSR at thsi point. There is a waitlist at all of them I believe. (I just went through trying to add on.)
If I were buying for the first time I'd want SSR anyway. Longer contract date, plus good incentives right now.
I think the theme pool looks very promising. Zero depth, slide, play water fountain area for the kids. Plus, I like the idea of the food court. The otehrs don't ahve that.
Good luck!

So this may not be helpful but my 4yr old loves WDW so much he does not really care where he stays - he has a great time at all of the below:

CR
OKW
WL

Remember you can always switch to a non home resort at 7 month window if space is available

If DVC is not selling points at non-SSR you can always go resale

Thanks

I am assuming from the ages of your children you are a relatively young couple, so the extra yrs of ownership with having SSR as a home resort are something that your family will realistically make very good use of. Although you can get a resale at another DVC resort the price difference is not that much lower than buying at SSR with the discount and the extra 12 yrs of use is worth much more than the initial price difference.
Also as others have said, until 2042 you can always stay at any of the other DVC resorts with SSR pts and yet when all of our memberships are history you will still have 12 more years of Disney magical trips!

Thanks so much! Sometimes when you know what you want it just helps to hear others affirm your decision.
I am 28 so yes the extra 12 years is a no brainer.
I also feel we could stay anywhere and our kids would be ecstatic.
Now this is the first I've heard of a food court? Is it actually at SSR? What will they serve?

At your age I would go SSR as well for the extra length of contract

Thanks
