Fav place to PU car other than CCC $$$$

We usually get our car at the Car Care Center, but prices are a bit much for our Sept Oct trip. We want to take DME so airport pickup is not what we are looking for. We wnat to take DME, it's part if the vacation to us
Where else can I pick up a car on or near Disney Property and how would I get there?

The Dolphin Resort. Take a bus to EPCOT and walk thru the International Gateway and over to the Dolphin.

There is an Alamo/National desk at the Dolphin Resort. I put in the dates for our Aug. trip and they came up cheaper than the CCC. You could get there by either taking a taxi from your resort (if you aren't at an Epcot resort) or take the bus to the Studios and either walk/boat to the Dolphin. If you are at a park you can just hop on the Swan/Dolphin bus to get there.

Almost all of the DTD hotels have car rentals
The hotels keep changing their names, but search for Alamo, Dolloar, Hertz in Lake Buena Vista.
We have done Alamo and Dollar many times. Both are and easy walk from the DTD bus drop off
I've heard they have shuttles, but I just prefer to take the DTD bus when it suits me rather than worry about a shuttle that may or may not show up at the time it told me.

We have also done the dolphin, but have not found good rates in recent years.

The rates for National and Alamo are likely to go down as the dates get closer.

However, even though you're staying on-site at WDW, there's no reason to limit yourself to National or Alamo at the CCC or WDW Dolphin. All major car rental companies serve WDW resort guests with locations just off-site or at hotels on Hotel Plaza Drive.

For example, Hertz has a facility on 192 near AKL. They'll pick you up at your WDW resort hotel and take you back after your rental. I've found the prices to be lower than renting at the Dolphin. (Your experience may be different depending on what rates you qualify for.)

Thanks for the great info.

I waited over an hour for an Alamo shuttle recently. I went into the resort three times and finally INSISTED they call becuase the place was going to close - they forgot about me and the resort just said keep waiting! it can happen, but thats not the first time I had a LONG wait. I wont mind trying somewhere else that's not as close but may be faster.

I will start checking off property as well. Any other personal reccomendations?


How can you tell when booking if the offer pickup and drop off? ALso wher do you find dicsount codes people mention on the boards??
