Hi all! Our next trip in Dec. '06 will be a budget trip, and I was hoping to get opinions on the best counter service restaurants. We will be visiting all the parks over a 5-day period. You have all been so helpful, I truly value your input!

Thanks! :wizard:

We love Columbia Harbor House in MK and Flame Tree Barbecue at AK....MGM I guess maybe Pizza Planet and Epcot, Sunshine Season.

My family likes Pecos Bill's in MK, Electric Umbrella in Epcot, Restaurantosaurus in AK (possibly b/c it's McDonalds :rolleyes2 ) and in MGM we usually we eat near Star Tours- I forget the name.

ooh, this is "easy" LOL!

magic kingdom, our fave is casey's... but i think it's more a tradition than good food... for good food, columbia harbor house

epcot, our fave is mexico... get the combo platter... yummy and big enough to share! second runner up is sunshine seasons in the land...

mgm, pizza planet all the way... again, not 'cause it's "great" but because it's fun!

animal kingdom, don't think we've ever eaten CS at AK... hmm, guess we'll have to change that next trip! LOL!

Our favorites in each park:

MK = Cosmic Ray's - good burgers and fixins bar, or rotisserie chicken or DH had a tasty turkey/bacon wrap

AK = Tusker house - great fried chicken sandwich!

MGM = only eaten at Rosie's All American Cafe - ok cheeseburgers and fries

Epcot = We like to "eat around the world" and share: China = egg rolls and beef fried rice (kids meal), Mexico = nachos!! France = Cheesecake, UK = Fish & Chips!

MK- Caseys
MGM- I havent really liked any of the CS's there to be honest :guilty:
AK-Flame Tree
Epcot-Cantina de San Angel and of course, Boulangerrie Patisserie, the pastry shop in france

We consider two things in selecting counter service spots to eat at the parks: the food and the seating area. With that in mind, I would recommend:

Magic Kingdom: Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe.
Animal Kingdom: Flame Tree Barbecue
Disney-MGM Studios: Backlot Express
Epcot-Future World: The Land Sunshine Seasons
Epcot-World Showcase: Cantina de San Angel

Enjoy.

MK - Pecos Bill's
MGM - Pizza Planet - the kids love the arcade after we eat
AK - Pizzafari - they have a great Italian sandwich
EPCOT - Liberty Inn - our tastes are not adventurous enought to try anything different.

MK--Columbia Harbour House, Pinocchio's, or El Pirata y El Perico (when it's open)

MGM--Not sure what it's called. Something like the Backlot Restaurant--they have cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets, etc.

AK--Restaurantosaurus--like someone else said, it's McDonalds :) and Flame Tree BBQ

EPCOT--The Fish & Chips place in England or the counter service place in Mexico (Sorry! I'm not good at remembering the names!)

Here are our favorites:

MK: Columbia Harbour House

AK: Tusker House

Epcot: Sunshine Seasons, followed closely by Cantina de San Angel and Tangerine Cafe

MGM: Toy Story Pizza Planet. There are not as many good CS choices at MGM as the other parks, but I was pleasantly surprised by Pizza Planet last trip - not bad!

DTD: Earl of Sandwich

MK - Pecos Bills. LOVE the chicken wrap and it's HUGE.

MGM - ABC Commissary. I like that they have options other than burgers and fries

AK - Tusker House

Epcot - Tangerine Cafe. My FAVORITE!!

DTD - Earl of Sandwich

MK - Columbia Harbor House
Main St. Bakery
Side note: The Plaza Restaurant is really one of the most reasonable table services restaurants at WDW.

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons (THe Land)
Bakery in Norway
Bakery in France

MGM - Starring rolls
Sci-Fi is one of the more reasonable table service restaurants

AK - Tusker House
Flame Tree Barbecue

DTD - Earl of Sandwich

Have fun!

AK - Flame Tree (This is our very favorite counter service in all of WDW!)

DTD - Earl of Sandwich

EPCOT - The only one at which we ate last May was Sunshine Seasons, & we thought it was fine! (This year, we plan to try some of the World Showcase counters - specifically France.)

MGM - Toy Story Pizza Planet

MK - Columbia Harbour House (This year, we also plan to try Pinocchio Village Haus)

AK - Flame Tree BBQ
MGM - ABC commisary
MK - have only eaten Casey's for CS and it was just ok
Epcot - Yorkshire (fish and chips)

AK - Flametree BBQ
MGM - none, take boat to Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club instead
Epcot - Tangerine Cafe in Morocco
MK - Harbor House
MK alternate - take a boat to Fort Wilderness and check out the Trail's End buffet. Best fried chicken in Fla, and cheap. mmmmm
