Is anyone else feeling an extraordinary amount of fatigue lately?

It's awful! I feel like I'm half dead throughout the day, then when I try to go to bed at night, I can't sleep -- I'm wide awake. I know my thyroid is all out of whack and my fibromyalgia is acting up, but this fatigue is so profound.

DH is losing patience with me because I'm not doing a thing around the house. :guilty:

I felt that way between Thanksgiving and Christmas! It was awful! And I was in the worst possible mood! I am starting to feel better now....thankfully. Hope you are feeling revived very soon! :goodvibes

OMG you've read my mind. I can't even exercise anymore without taking a nap later in the day. It's awful. Any ideas?

Yes!

Since last Thurs, I have a had a very mild sinus cold accompanied by incredible fatigue - that just can not be explained by the sinus cold. I had a migraine the first day, but too much time has gone by for it to still be that.

I also have thyroid issues, but Drs tell me my levels are normal so it can't possibly explain any symptoms (I disagree - but that is another post! :teeth:.) I keep thinking post holiday depression - who knows - I am in good spirits other than feeling dragged out! I just wish it would go away because I am also not getting anything done!

Hope you are feeeling better soon!

Wow, I feel the same way! Wonder what it is? I just can't bear to think about all the laundry or dishes or toys out or whatever. And these are things I've always been on top of. And I'm still taking care of things around here but I hate doing it. And it puts me in a crappy mood. I'm very short tempered lately and not sleeping well. I don't what it is but it's terrible. I want to be back to my normal self. Maybe it's SAD like some others have suggested. :confused3

This might sound like overgiven advice, but weight lifting helps me sooo much in this area. It is easier to do than cardio when you feel so tired, but you still get many of the benefits and after about 2 weeks you start getting more energy.

It is so hard to function when you feel like that though.

Get yourself checked out by your physician and take it from there. Your thyroid certainly can have something to do with your fatigue and a change in medication for it may be in order.

Take care and best wishes.

Yes, but apparently it's a symptom of perimenopause/menopause as well. :scared:

you had to say that!!!! - I will ignore it as I prefer to be in denial over those issues!!!! :sunny:

Yes I'm in denial about the M word too, I'm only 41 but well I think it's pre, pre you know what.

I've been wondering about pre-menopause myself. UGH!

DH has kindly offered to sleep on the couch for a couple of nights so I can catch up on some rest. He's a big part of my problem. He's got an REM sleep disorder, so he acts out his dreams every night. Sometimes it's mild and doesn't even stir me, but other nights he'll scare me out of a sound sleep and then I can't get back to sleep. He refuses to be treated for it, so when we move out of this house, I'm insisting on separate bedrooms -- doctor's orders!

Regarding the thyroid, my TSH was up to 25 as of the end of November. I'm due for another TSH in a week, so I'll see if my numbers have gotten any better by then.

Marseeya,
There was an article in The Washington Post's Health section this past Wednesday about married (and they were young) couples having separate bedrooms due to sleeping issues. Mostly it was the wives wanting separate areas because they had become light sleepers and the husbands had some sleeping patterns that were disruptive. Apparently this is VERY common and people are feeling horrible because they aren't getting quality sleep.

Also, having a TSH of 25, even in November and having it be "normal" today--well, you're probably still going to feel bad. While the TSH might be normal (and I'm betting it's not), it takes a while for the body to recover.

Do you ever check your blood sugar? The reason I ask is because I was so tired all the time that I could barely function and it turned out to be Type II diabetes. Just a thought, hope you feel better soon (and lets not even go to the "M" thing right now :scared: ).
