We will be in Disney World for our first time on Fathers Day and I am wondering if anything special happens for dads. My husband has been great through all of this planning and spending and I would like something special for him. If not are there any suggestions for some Fathers Day magic?

We`ve been on Father's Day several times. The only thing I can recall that they do, is put dad's in all of the "hot seats" during the Millionaire shows. As far as suggestions go, take him to a TS restaurant of his choice and try to let him do what he wants to do and not overplan it. Just being there in general will be enough for him!

Not overplan? That's a tall order for me! :lmao: Thank you for the idea, we will try to take a slow pace since it is his "vacation". We will most likely be in the Animal Kingdom that day so if you know a good restaurant let me know.

Take a stroll from Epcot, over to Bayside Marina (at the Yacht Club). Walk over to the window and take your hubby on a 10-minute Breathless Burst.
There is usually a driver on standby from 1:30pm to 5pm and he will remember the ride for a long time.

We were there last Father's Day. WDW doesn't seem to do anything out of the ordinary for dad's day, so we had a special basket/box made up and delivered to our resort. We had www.peggyssweetsandmore.com put together a 'made to order' box for dh...lots of gardening type stuff. When we returned to the room, midday, it was sitting there on the table waiting for him. He was really surprised and thrilled.

I will be there Father's Day too...with my Dad and DH. Since both are Fathers, we had them each pick their #1 thing to do that day. DH will pick a ride in Epcot after DD princess breakfast (he agreed, worked good to do this that AM and we got the first seating) and my Dad wants to play Minigolf. So in afternoon we are off to Fantasia gardens. Ending with Fantasmic dinner package as none of us have ever seen the show.

Last year Mom and Dad were there on Father's day and they had a special pin for Father's Day. She got one for each of my kids. Jasmine and her Dad

We picked out a little something for DH we will give him Sunday Morning. We are also eating his favorite meal Steak at LeCellier. I found a card at Target with a little pin attached to it that says something like, "My Kids Love Me". So we will make him wear that :) Other than that, I guess I'll be extra sweet to him this day. Then Monday, it's back to me making all the decisions. :confused3

Hey HollisterSweetie,

We'll be at ASMO as well, same time. Maybe I'll see ya at the pool or something. Here's hoping for a wonderful trip, great weather and tons of pixie dust!

We'll be at ASMo too! It is Dh's first father's day (baby in utero!) so I let him pick the dinner location - He choose Liberty Tree. and I have a card from baby. I'm trying to think of something else that would be extra special to do too!

:woohoo: Awesome! I've never seen anyone from the DIS in WDW before. Hopefully I see both Villainess and My2boys1821 around the resort :cool1: ! Have a great time:)

We'll be there, too! I got a Disney-themed card from the kids and scheduled a Segway tour for him later in the week. He's always said how cool it would be to do. I also made an ADR at Teppanyaki for Father's Day. Every time we pass it, he remarks how we should go--just afraid one of our picky kids wouldn't eat the food. I also forced them all to promise to eat without complaining about the lack of pizza or chicken nuggets. :teeth: Also, he will pick our park that day (probably AK--his fave). We were in WDW on Father's Day in 2000, and the CM's gave out special stickers to the dads. See you there! :sunny: Now, if I can only keep the kids busy while I pack.

We will be at ASMO too! Leave Friday. Tink Girl- I am from Central Maryland as well! What day are you leaving? Heres hoping for a great trip everyone!

Hi Ears2You! We're leaving Friday, too. We live in Westminster. We're driving, so we'll get there Sat. Have a great trip! :)

Could someone explain to me what 'Breathless Burst' is?

Thanks :wave2:

A few years ago we were at Disney World over father's day. While dining at Chef Mickey's they presented all fathers with a Mickey Tie. Hubby wears it alot and gets many comments. A great and unexpected freebie!!

:) We are leaving in a few hours (can't believe I'm on the computer), but wanted to read some more on the DIS boards!!

We will be in Epcot for Father's Day. My hubby's favorite resturant is the Garden Grill, so I made an ADR for dinner and he adores Illuminations! The kids have already made him cards, so we have those packed and will surprise him with some type of gift while we are there. I'm going to try to take note of something he likes and then purchase it while he's not around.

Hope to see some of you there! :wave2:

We ate at Rainforest Cafe on our way out of Animal Kingdom (for dinner). It was awesome! We had never been to one before so we were totally amazed by the thunderstorm that went off inside the restuarant every 10 minutes (or something like that)
My husband and my daughter loved it. Make sure you order their special dessert, I believe it was called a Volcano.

May I ask where in Target you found that pin...I would love to get one for DH...we agreed to have "Father's Day" for him on the 25th as the kids decided to give him Lacross sticks and too bulky for the plane : )
