I think I'm going to make my DH a CD for him to sync of songs with a Father theme. We listen to a wide variety of genres, so bring them on! Two songs I can think of are (both country, I don't know why) Alan Jackson's Drive (When Daddy let me drive) & Tim McGraw's My Little Girl from Flicka.
Can anyone help me add to this list?
ETA: These are our two darlings below. 1 boy and 1 girl :0

Oh, Some more:
Butterfly Kisses
Just the Two of Us, Will Smith :)
Sunrise, Sunset, from Fiddler on the Roof (Hey, I told you we listen to a wide variety of genres, lol)

OK, Here's a compiled list of suggestions, in case anyone is interested.
Drive - Alan Jackson
My Little Girl- Tim McGraw
Butterfly Kisses - BobCarlisle
Just the Two of Us - Will Smith
Sunrise, Sunset - Fiddler on the Roof
With Arms Wide Open - Creed
Dear Little Boy of Mine - Frank Sinatra
Love Without End, Amen - George Strait
Daddy's Hands - The Judds, Holly Dunn
Beautiful Boy - John Lennon
Daddy's Girl - KJ-52
Daddy's Little Girl - The Mills Brothers
Father and Daughter - Paul Simon
Watching You - Rodney Atkins
Who's Your Daddy? - Toby Keith (Just for Fun)

George Strait- Love Without End, Amen, and the one out right now (don't know the artist) called Watching You. It's about a 4 year old who wants to be just like his dad. My daughter loves it and knows all the words. Also, Daddy's Hands by the Judds, and That's My Job by Conway Twitty.

Oh, I hadn't heard Watching You, but I found it. It made me tear up. lol. Those are great! Keep them coming!

I've always liked the song Heaven by the band Live. Also two Ben Folds songs are good "Dad" songs Gracie and Sentimental Guy.

What about Cats in the Cradle by Harry Chapin. That always gets me thinking about how soon they grow up and to savor every moment!

My 10yo and I were just peeking at I tunes with the very same idea. GREAT ideas - we also found a Daddy's Little Girl by Michael Bolton that is great, My Fathers Eyes by Eric Clapton and Put It There by Paul McCartney.

For those like me with tweens also check out - I learned From You by Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus.

Thanks -
TJ

This has to be the worst song ever written. Please do your DH a HUGE favor and don't add this song to his CD. I have never personally spoken with anyone who enjoys this song. Should be banned from the airwaves. :headache:

I like Cats in the Cradle.... :rolleyes1

How about these:
"Best Day of My Life" by George Strait
"Dance with My Father" by Luther Vandross
"Seein My Father in Me" by Paul Overstreet
"Song for Dad" by Keith Urban
"My Girl" by The Temptations
"Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers
"Unforgettable" by Nat King and Natalie Cole
"Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion
"Hero" by Mariah Carey
"Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder (I LOVE THIS SONG!)

That's all I got right now, but I'm sure I'll come up with more! Great idea, by the way!

Amen! :thumbsup2 (Why is there no 'puking' smilie. . .?)

I think I might just have to do this too! What a neat idea.

Is it okay if I "steal" your idea? :guilty:

I will have to see what other songs I can come up with.

Just last weekend at a wedding we attended when the bride and her dad were dancing their dance they played the song My Little Girl by Tim McGraw
and my 15 year old DD said... "Oh that is Daddy's and my song!"

I also have a 21 year old son. I think I will run this by him and see what songs he thinks.

Sorry you feel that way. I guess I'm the first person you've "spoken" with then that enjoys it. ;)

I am doing somthing similiar for DH for Father's Day. Instead of a CD, I am making a DVD for him. I have pictures of me, him, his 2 kids, and our daughter growing up through the years. Then I selected songs to play for each "chapter."

I used:
It's your love - Tim McGraw and Faith Hill
My Little Girl - Tim McGraw
In My Daughter's Eyes - Martina McBride
Time of Your Life - Green Day
My Wish - Rascall Flatts
Then They Do - Trace Adkins
I Don't Want to Miss A Thing - Aerosmith.

Hope this helps!

That's cute, too! Great songs.
I actually got him some speakers to go with his mp3 player, so I thought it would be nice to have some songs for him to sync. :)

tinkerbell615 - Of course I don't mind! I probably won't use every song on the list, but hey, somebody might! The more songs we have the better!

Just thought I'd mention that I like walmart downloads. 88 Cents per song. :)

I did this last year for my husband. I set it to "Rich Man" it's a country song by Paul Brandt. It was perfect!

Artist/Band: Brandt Paul
Lyrics for Song: Rich Man
Lyrics for Album: This Time Around
I look in the mirror
Don't see much
Fashion sense a little out of touch
The house is run down as the bills pile up
But I'm rich man
Breakfast table

Morning rush
Sometimes it seems we barely have enough
But if it's true that you need is love
Then I'm a rich man
When she smiles

Or they call me daddy
All the worries of the world just seem to fade away
I'm alive
And I know what matters
If this is all I ever have (well that's ok,) I'm proud to say
I'm a rich man

So every morning
And brand new day
With each and every single breath I take
I'm blessed and I'm thankful, yeah I've got it made
Oh, I'm so glad life turned out this way
I've loved, I've been loved, show me someone else with as much as me

:lmao: That'd be TOO funny!! Like the pie-eating-contest scene in Stand By Me. :rotfl2:
