hi all! I think I am down to the final two choices - it's about our family memories. Our family has visited WDW every year or two since my daughter was 2 1/2 years old and we all love visiting from upstate NY - the memories over the years are something we all cherish. My daughter is getting married in a few weeks (Yup, she is honeymooning in WDW) - I would love to hear your opinions on which song you think is best! Thanks.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like those would be pretty difficult to dance to. What about something like a slow cover of "When You Wish Upon a Star?" There's nothing more Disney than that, and it always makes me think of the fireworks at Magic Kingdom.

What does your daughter say? Do these songs have any special memories for both of you?

Ds and I were picking out our dance song this time last year. Very exciting, special time.

We didn't want sappy. But went with Hootie and the Blowfish 'Hold My Hand' which came out a month after he was born and we often sang it to him, especially when he was toddling and did need to hold our hands. Ds and I read the lyrics and it fit the idea of parents helping a child grow up. Still gets me teary as I think abt it. Was glad to jam to it, so I wasn't a blubbering idiot on the dance floor.

Had I realized and thought about it, ds was born the day the Lion King movie came out. Dh sang those songs to ds when he was a baby. We totally should have created a montage dance to the soundtrack, but I was caught up in the other plans and it didn't even occur to me until after the wedding.

Thanks for your thoughts -- originally I was going with Luther Vandross Dance with my Father but then we came up with Disney which has meaning - not sure if those are danceable either lol...keeping it a secret from my daughter, at least for now, but maybe I should reconsider. I am interested in seeing what other Disney experts think! Thanks again Kate and Southernmiss for your comments!

DS and I gave it a 'practice dance' in our living room, just to make sure we could at least sway with it.

He also had to give a set list to the DJ early to be sure the DJ had the right songs.

Tbh I can't remember dil's song with her dad, as I knew I was up next and was nervous!

My DD and I danced to "When You Wish Upon A Star" as sung by Jiminy Cricket. The room gasped in delight when the song started.:)

How sweet of your daughter to let you choose the song! My sister and I gave our dad zero input--LOL.

I just listened to Remember the Magic on YouTube and it sounds like a fantastic choice! The lyrics are spot-on for a father-daughter dance in my opinion.

I have no idea how you'd do a dance around a 30 minute Spectro song--just pick a few minutes of your favorite part, I suppose.

I don't think either choice screams "Disney" though if you were hoping it would do that.
