Father/Daughter Dance

Just looking for a little help/suggestions.

Im having difficulty finding the best song for dancing with my daddy! I have great memories of him loving Bob Marley (he says thats the only thing that got me to sleep as a baby!) and a few other artists/songs that he likes but none that really mean anything to our relationship. I really want a song that has beautiful words as we are so close and our dance will mean so much to both of us.

I love the song 'Dance with my father' the words are beautiful but I think its more about loss?

Would love to hear any ideas? My first dance with hubby to be was easier to decide!

I agree "Dance with my Father" seems like a song about losing your dad, but it would still be a good song. Bob Marley songs are a bit tough since most of them are either about rebellion or deal with love between a man and a woman not a father and daughter. Three Little Birds might not be a bad choice though. Kind of your way of telling your dad "Don't worry 'bout a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right."

Yeah the Bob Marley thing doesnt really work, nice idea but none of his songs are really about father/daughter stuff, maybe a phase my dad was going through when I was born ha!

Will have a listen to those songs, out of all the wedding plans this has been the hardest decision!

I used Butterfly Kisses...everytime my dad heard it, he always got teary eyed (which is the ONLY time I've ever seen him get teary eyed) so I knew that I had to use it

This song was played so much and we would always be in the car together, so we decided when we weren't together if we heard the song, we would call each other and tag one another. It was a fun game for us and we still do it today. So, even if there is a song that doesn't have a meaning of father/daughter but it's special to you, use it.
