Hello does anyone know what time Father Christmas is in the park - and when a good time to go would be? I am guessing early in the day? Saw some awful long queues last time we were at DLP and gave it a miss - but would like to try and do the Santa letter this time

you can do the letter without queuing to see Santa - we did. The queues were really busy so the earlier you can get there the better if you do want to see him

I took my DD and Dniece to Santas grotto as soon as the park opened at 10am. Santa was scheduled to arrive from around 10.15 from what I remember, he was about 10 minutes late, but we were 2nd in the queue to see him, so I considered it 20 minutes well spent .

Santas village closes once he goes off to do the parade so bear that in mind. His post office stays open though and we spotted some elves hard at work in his workshop later on!.

Thanks to you both that is really useful .... I suspect that we may end up just posting rather than standing in a huge queue for hours on end but will see how it goes...maybe we will get lucky!

The current schedule says that Santa is there everyday from 10am to 6pm

I didn't notice this until I was leaving but the Santa letter envelopes are available in the reception areas of the hotels.
It could save you a little bit of time waiting to get an envelope from the Post Office and filling out the details whilst in the park. It means you can do it in the comfort of your hotel and then it's just a case of handing it in at the Post Office.
It also means less chance of it getting rained/snowed on or blown away by wind.

As I have a few letters from friends children as well as our own letter for Santa, that will save a great amount of time doing it back at the hotel .
