Father/Bride Dance Music Question

What should I use to play music to dance with my dad?

  • Be cheap. Play it on your iphone and hold it while you're dancing

  • Suck it up buttercup. Pay the money and make it look good!

  • Find a different song all together

  • No worries no one will notice

Hi All!

So, I want to dance to a song with my dad that would loose something if just played on the violin. We're and escape and getting the violinist blah blah blah....
I don't want to pay the cost of having an Ipod set up for ONE SONG...So...do I just play it from my iphone and we can dance while people look at us like we're nuts...or suck it up for the ipod set up...but for the cost of it for one song-I say they get the actual singer...do we select a different song (I don't want to)

You be the judge..help a bride out

Do what makes you comfortable, the dance is for you and your father, not for everyone else. It is a special time for you two to be together and forget about the rest. Whatever will make you happy is what you need to choose and don't worry about your guests etc...

That is one thing I didn't do, I didn't push for a father daughter dance, and my dad said that was the one thing he missed. It was my fault, but my DH's mom wasn't sure if she would be able to make the trip, so I didn't want him to feel left out if I danced with my dad and he didn't get to dance with his mom. Well she did come, and I totally forgot to contact my planner to add the dances in. I didn't even think about it again until my dad mentioned he was sad he didn't get to dance with me in my wedding dress. :( That is my ONLY regret for the day, and it was my fault... :sad1:

What about an ipod speaker dock? You can find them at walmart/target and they aren't that expensive (just make sure it runs on batteries). Just have that one song on a playlist by itself, put it on a centralized location and ask someone just to hit play and stop (we actually have one that has a remote - it was about $50)

Cool idea...but who is bringing it there and setting it up and stuff? Or is it small enough to fit in your purse or something???

We're not going to use it after all, but we were going to put it on the cake table or one of the guest tables and have someone responsible for it. It's not massive but it's definitely not purse size. Because the guys go down before the girls do, the DF was going to carry it down make sure it was set up.

They have some that "fit in the palm of your hand" and are 19.99 but you can probably find some at your local electronic store.

They do have lil round ones. They're cute. But even the regular ones aren't that big. If someone has a big purse or just in like a little bag. I'm still deciding btw an escape or wishes wedding but if we go with escape that's what I was thinking of doing. Just don't forget batteries! Hope that helps.

I voted first option...I think that makes it sweet :)
