Why do some people refer to there fastpass booking date as 60+10 days? I thought it was only 60 days before your checkin date that you could book?

You can START to book at 60 days, AND THEN, at the same time, book for the remainder of days of your resort stay, too.

Up to 10 days (hence the +10.)

Sorry, but that's not fully correct.

On-site guests can prebook attractions up to 60 days in advance of the beginning of an on-site stay and for their entire trip.
So, at 60 days before a check-in date a guest can book FP+ selections for the entire trip... up to 14 days.

This info can be found on the FP+ Priorities and Strategies thread > HERE.

Has it always been that way?

Probably.

I don't think that they have made any significant CHANGES in the far-too-delicate FP+ software.
(Although they DID manage to do away with the bizarre practice of tying the start of the 60-days-out timing from the closing time of MK!)

But, I can tell you that within the last X months, DINING reservations have gone from 180 days + 10, to 180 days + length of stay.
