FastPass tips/tricks

I was reading some tips on FastPass at Disneyland and wondered if anyone has any tips for Disneyworld. I understand some FastPass machines are not connected to the main mainframe in Disneyland which allows you to hold more than one FastPass at times. Is there the same situation (at all) in Disneyworld?

Also, anyone else have any other ideas? Not looking to "break" the rules, just push them to their limits... ;)

Thanks.

At Disneyland, we were able to get a fastpass in Disneyland, then go to California Adventure and get another, which I guess would work at WDW too, but the parks are much further apart so it would be harder to do. In the same park though, they are all conncected since we've never been able to get more than one at a time.

We use fastpass all the time at wdw. For instance one person in the group will go get one for splash mountian or thunder maintain, meet with the others and do the jungle cruise, pirates, carpets and then when we get to the fastpass area depending the time of the fastpass we do the fastpass ride then the other ride.(splash/dig thunder)are neighbors. then it is the same with the next one, which would be peter pan. then we come back do the hall of pres, the boat ride, something to drink buy this time the haunted mansion, and then peter pan. As you can tell I have become a pro at this.

One word of advice, you can only get a fastpass every 2 hours, so you have to learn the ropes, I hope that this helps!!

I do know on a few occasions I was able to get 2 fastpasses at the same time but I can't remember for which ones...I seem to think it was Haunted Mansion...maybe it isn't wired in to the main! Oh well...I check it out in a month and get back to you!

Yeah, my wife and I have been doing some of the same things at WDW with FastPass. I'd heard of some people getting a FastPass for an attraction then going off and doing other things and picking up another FastPass for the same attraction (or one nearby) AFTER the original one expired. Then they went back and rode the attraction twice becasue the CMs don't seem to turn down an expired FastPast (although they won't let you on earlier).

Other than that, and what you've suggested, I haven't found any tricks for WDW.

Thanks.

Yes, we were told that they'll except fastpasses anytime after they are good for, including on future visits. We did this with Test Track-when we were there over NYE we got a FP for TT, but then it broke down before we could ride. We asked the CM when it would be back up and he said he didn't know but we could use it the next day if we wanted to. We said we wouldn't be back till February and he said that was fine. Well, we remembered to bring it with us and used it with no problem in Feb.

Thanks for that tip! I hadn't realized they'll honor a FastPass from a previous visit. I guess I'll have to grab a few on the days that aren't all that busy and keep them for the weekend we'll be there (we're going from mid-week to mid-week). That should save some time.

Nice tip!

having never used this does everyone riding need one or just one per group and I read you could get one as soon as the earliest time past : if you had one for 10:15-whatever, you could get another at 10:16 whether you had used the first yet or not. true or false.
then if you wanted to ride the same thing twice go when close to time when both would be usable...since I haven't use them I don't quite get is so maybe I don't understand this right.

TRUE

DS son and I did this when we were there in 2001. We always had 2 FP at a time. As soon as the window for the first FP opened, I'd get another. A CM in MGM told me about this. We never waited 2 hours between FPs. By taking advantage of EE and using FP we were able to stay ahead of the crowds all week.

They have changed FP since my trip. Now when you get your FP, the time when you can get another one is printed on the bottom.

We each have 2 FPs from 2001. One is for Test Track and one is for Dinosaur. I wonder if we'll be able to use them on our next trip.

Each person riding needs a fastpass.

That's true. You can pcik up another fastpass as soon as you hit the time that your first fastpass can be used (or the time printed on the bottom when you can get your next fastpass).
Here's a link to the DIS page of facts about fastpasses.
Another hint I have it to look at the time for the standby line (you can ask the CM whether it is accurate or not). We've seen CMs literally begging people to go on an attraction sometimes when there was no wait. People were just ignoring them and trying to plan what they would do until their fastpass time came. This happened several times at ITTBAB and the Indiana Jones Stunt Show. The fastpass return time was more than 2 hours in the future and we just walked in with the standby line.

thansk, the page helped a lot.one question, doesn't this involve a lot of running back and forth?do you try to get them close to each other if possible? how do you think the most effective use for it is thanks

Please excuse me, but I'm not sure I follow the rule here.

I'll be at WDW during Easter so i'm gonna need to know this.

I'll have 4 people in my group, I put all 4 of my tickets in the machine let say at 8:00, and I'll get 4 passes back. The time on the passes has at ride time of 10:00. If I understand this right, I really have untill 11:00 to ride that ride, but at 10:01 I can get another pass.

You may be able to get it sooner, depending on what your return time is. If you put the ticket in the FP machine at 8am, and the FP return time you get back says 2pm, you wouldn't have to wait until 2 to get your next fastpass. There's another time on the bottom and it will say that's the time you're next elegible for a FP, so that way you don't have to wait like 3 or 4 hours if you get a time that's far away.

okay this is how it works, everyone puts there ticket in to get the own fastpass. if you get a fast pass at 8am and it tells you to return at 230pm, then you have 6 1/2 hours to come back, then look at the bottom of the ticket, it will tell you when you can hold another fastpass for another ride. then we do other things around the fastpass ride that we chose to ride, and sometimes will be holding a 2nd one, we really don't do a lot of bouncing around. when we go in a park, we usually go counterclockwise. Sometimes one of will go for a fastpass a a nearby ride while the others are in line, and jump in line!!

We have been very successful with FP. If the FP return is not very long, then we do something in the same area. If it is hours away, we continue our cycle around the park.

During our Dec. 2001 trip,

Our train was delayed on BTMRR and we were at the front of the line...a CM and us started a friendly conversation talking how great it might be to work at WDW when we retire.

After we got off the ride he was waiting for us and handed us a number of blank FP's for BTMRR and Splash MTN...They had a stamp on them "BTM" and SPLM".

I guess I'll try and use them next week.

Although this would be beneficial for my family & I, it hardly seems right to allow this.

DH & I are leaving in 3 days for an anniversary trip. We will be back in a month with our 3 DD's, which means we could theorhetically get FP's (at least 2 of them) for a numer of FP attractions & use them in Nov. with our family. While there in Nov. we could get 5 FP's for any attraction we wanted to ride when we are there again over Easter.

Like I said, while it would be beneficial for us it hardly seems right for others.

Is this just one of those things that only a few CM's will do or is it an actual policy. Believe me, if it can be done, I'm sure in Nov. we'll pick up as many FP's as possible to use in April, what a time saver, but if it's not worth the hassle I won't bother.

I'm not sure if it's an official policy, but we used FPs from a previous trip and previous days on the current trip without any problem. I guess it's not a huge problem since it's not stated anywhere so people don't know to stock up on FPs and then remember to bring them back on a future visit. The CM at TT told us that they started allowing it because TT is shut down a lot so it was unfair to guests to got a FP and then basically had to throw it away. We thought maybe it was just a TT policy, so we asked at Splash, BTMRR, Peter Pan, RnRC, and ToT. The only comment we ever got was from a CM at BTMRR when we used a FP good from 2/17 11:15-12:15 on 2/20 at 2:30pm, and he laughed and said "Wow, you guys ate a long lunch" and waved us through. So even when they clearly are reading the dates/times, it seems as though it's okay, even if it's not official policy.
