I have booked my FP's through My Disney Experience but I'm wondering something...

I have a Toy Story Mania FP for around 1:00 in the afternoon. We would like to ride it in the morning also without having to wait in the line up. Will I be able to get another FP for TSM first thing in the morning to use in the morning? Is it possible that I will have to wait until the FP time that I reserved on MDE expires before I can get another one for the same ride?

There's a really good FP+ thread on the boards that you should check out for information. But the answer to your question is that you won't be able to get an a.m. TSMM FP. You have to use up all of your pre-booked FPs for the day before you can book any new ones. (My understanding is that TSMM is one of the rides where it's pretty much impossible to get a FP the day of, so you'll need to do the stand by line to ride it twice).

Thank you! A 13 minute total experience at 9am... We'll definitely have to be there well before rope drop!

You can only have one Toy Story FP scheduled. You can only get extras after your first 3 have been used or the time expired. By 1pm if there were any Toy story passes available the day of (highly unlikely), they'll be gone.

Show up at rope drop and try to get there quickly so you can ride it twice. Other than beating the crowd at rope drop or possibly waiting until close to park closing, it'll have long waits all day.

And be advised that they don't always open the park early. Sometimes yes, if there's a lot of people they'll open the park 15-20 min early. Sometimes even with a lot of people, they'll wait until scheduled park opening. It's all luck of the draw.

I'd arrive close to an hour ahead of park opening to be at the front.

We walked back at a leisurely pace and only had a 15 - 20 minute wait at RD on 6/25, then we rode it again later with our FP.

If you want an alternate strategy, we've often rode TSMM up to 4 times during the last hour of operation when the line gets really short. Guests start preparing for Fantasmic, fireworks, etc. which leaves the headliners open for quick rerides.

Thanks for the responses, everyone.

I hadn't thought about trying to ride it again during Fantasmic, etc. Makes good sense though. I should keep that in mind.

We rode Toy Story 3 times on July 6. Waited about 60 minutes standby within the first 30 minutes of DHS opening, FP+ around 1pm, and then right at the beginning of PM EMH (though we didn't know what we were doing -- we found ourselves at a police barricade near the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground and learned that they open the police barricade near Little Mermaid first; there were literally people that had walked from LMA towards the big six pack of Coke right on the other side of our barricade before they let us free -- a little silly, IMO).

True, they don't always open the park early but the days they don't open early are the abnormal ones. Most of the time, the park opens early. If one is going to count on one or the other, count on it opening early. If you count on it opening on time chances are much greater you'll be well behind the crowds.

We went at rope drop, didn't get there front of the pack.... but a 30 minute wait was worth it since the ride went down by the time our afternoon fp+ for it came around. I would have been very bummed if I didn't get to do it at all.
