Hi,
I was reading some sites on disneyland and one of them mentioned some glitch in the DL fastpass system which would allow someone to get 2 fastpasses from different attractions at the same time.

Does anyone know the specifics of this?

Thanks a bunches! :teeth:

I've never heard of that I know there are some attractions which are disconnected from the network which would allow you to get two at the same time. Those are roger rabbit and grizzly river run. Also the fastpasses in disneyland are seperate from those in california adventure.

You can have a fastpass from Disneyland and one from CA Adventure at the same time. In addition, you can get a fastpass from Roger Rabbit's Cartoon spin even if you already have a fastpass for another ride in Disneyland. Over at CA Adventure, you can get one for Grizzly River Run even if you already have one for another ride.

All you do is just go to the fastpass machine and get one like any other time. The machines allow you to do this because they are disconnected from the other machines. In other words, they don't 'talk' to the other machines so they don't care if you already have a fastpass or not.

There used to be more machines disconnected which made this little known glitch pretty useful. But now you don't really benefit from it with so few machines disconnected.

You are getting two things mixed up here. You can have as many FastPasses at one time as you can collect. At one point during our August trip I had FPs for five DL rides and 2 DCA rides all at the same time. What you cannot do is get two FPs at the same time. In other words, once you get a FP for say Space Mtn, there is a time delay until you can get another one for Space Mtn or some other ride. The delay depends on when the FP return time is. It will usually be at least 40 minutes, and at most 2 hours.

However, even for this there are exceptions mentioned in another post above. One exception is disconnected FP attractions. A second is that DL and DCA have independent FP systems.

If you really want to learn about FP, see my FP "thesis" here:

Thanks a lot everybody.
I guess I did get confused.

I meant to say get 2 FPs minutes from each other... :)

Hydroguy, thanks for the link.
helps a lot.

One more Fastpass question:

If I use grandma's hopper to get a fastpass at the same time I'm getting mine, then can I later use my fastpass and then get back in line and use grandma's? I'm thinking there's no reason I wouldn't be able to...

So long as Grandma used her hopper to get into the park (which makes it elegible to get Fastpasses), then yes, that works.
