Fastpass selections arriving different days with packages

Just had a major wrench thrown into my fastpass plans, just glad we have time to figure it out. Can anyone confirm the below:

1. Two separate reservations (one for my family, one for my brother), both packages. Stay 1 arriving 8/20 second stay arriving 8/23. Since these are packages, I can't make his FP until 60 days before his reservation, correct? This is a wrench as it means we won't get the benefit of us staying longer.

2. If he re-books as room only (or ticketless package w/ dining) and buys the tix separately, can get around the issue above? Price looks to be identical if he goes this way, so no real change other than locking into tickets instead of it being part of a package that can be cancelled.

3. Not really related to above, but a 3rd family is traveling with us. Coming down a day after us. We are planning on some rides together, but mostly touring on our own. If I am linked to them, can I make FP selections for them if none of my party is going on the ride at that time? Or can I only book if at least one person of my party is on the fp? We are already on eachother's friends and family list.

2. There is zero ticket price savings when buying a "package."
3a. Nope.
3b. Yup.

Thanks for the quick response! Glad I am getting this all squared away now. He booked the package with the sun & fun offer, so he still has a few days to change to room only. In fact, he may save a few dollars by getting tickets from UT lol.

@Robo

Just a quick question, I thought I saw in the FAQ thread that date based tickets don't factor in when it comes to booking fp with an on-site stay. Is that the case in this situation as well?

I'm not sure what you are asking.

Sorry if I wasn't clear on my follow up question. I saw that part of the FAQ, and thought it was only referring to a single reservation and the date based ticket not mattering for when the fp window opens.

I guess my question was, with me having a package that starts on 8/20, does it matter if my brothers date based ticket starting on 8/24 matter for me adding him to our fp selections at my booking window? I think you pretty much answered it though. As long as he has valid Tix for those days that are not part of a package I can do so when my window opens.

Thanks again for the information. Definitely saved me from finding out the hard way

I'm curious if anyone knows if there is a difference with the multiple arrival dates on packages and the issue when in your friends and family list is "share all plans" or just "shared plans only".

For example, my wife has her own mde account. I noticed in mine I could not see she had tickets assigned to her (ticket icon was grey and not blue), even though she was on the reservation. Signing into her account showed the ticket. When in her account I checked what permissions she gave me and it was only "shared plans". When I changed that to "all plans" and went back to my account I could see she had a valid ticket.

I guess I'm curious if those who can't book for others when both parties have packages on different arrival dates is because under your account it doesn't see the ticket associated until their 60 day comes up. On another forum, someone said it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't with packages. So would be interested to know if maybe that is the reason why.

Not that this applies to my brother, because he already booked as a ticketless package and will buy tickets separately from undercover tourist. Rather be safe than find out my theory above is very wrong lol.

I'm not exactly sure what your question is but I will attempt an answer anyway. ;)

My husband and I have separate MDE accounts and are listed as share all plans. We have annual passes, so our trip dates don't really matter. My sister will be at Disney in three weeks and has three day park hoppers that are not tied to a package. They were purchased separately. We can make fastpasses for her because we can see her tickets when we go to the tickets tab in My plans.
