Fastpass return times about to be enforced?

We had a fast pass for Splash and when we went back the ride wasn't working. They told us we could use it anytime that day. I actually didn't realise that was standard. I Thought it was only if the ride wasn't working at the time you back with your fp.

Anyway if they are going to enforce it then than they will have to make concessions for when rides aren't working and it will just get confusing and then they will have to ease up again. I can just image CM's going "now hang on the ride was working then you can't ride now. But it wasn't working then so you can ride" I want to go back to see how that works out for them :thumbsup2

I hope it doesn't happen. I liked the flexibility of being able to come back as we worked our way around the park. It definitely save criss crossing everywhere. I always found the FP line to be quicker than the standby line when using FP.

i appreciate the entry and the heads up, but i'm not sure how they are going to enforce it... i would like to think that enforcing this issue just means more work for disney, and that this is idle rumour as it has been in the past before...

for a park that's all about magic and memorable experiences, i don't think that a situation of a kid being declined a ride because their fastpass has expired is in disney's best interests :(

Still a rumour.
In bringing in the NextGen system disney will have to make some changes to how it works. The referenced link gives no evidence that this - or any other change - will be what happens.

Well - 7 March is not very far away and then we'll all find out the truth.

Disboards live off this stuff - thread is over 70 pages now!

In the thread that I found the link on however, a CastMember chimes in and says:-

I'm a CM and one of the attractions in my area is getting told this exact same thing, with a 5 minute early and 15 minute late arrival time. I'm guessing that when the time comes, Cast Members will have to tell guests about the new policy at distribution. Also, I can see managers standing at the FP Return area for a while helping out with this. When the problems do arise (monorail delays, ride goes down etc.) I can see the managers handling the guests, but the Cast Members will be trained to not allow late arrivals.

Don't get me wrong, I hope Disney rethinks this and that it crashes and burns long before I get there in December but it's something scary.

This is SO annoying! But I do think that it is something that will be coming in. I too read a thread on this a week or so ago and do remember reading somebody who was actually told this by a Cast Member (as Ms.Shuttergirl said).

Although this is only being mentioned for WDW, there hasn't been any mention or rumour of them bringing this in at DL. Fingers crossed they will not do it at DL too.

If this comes in it will be really disappointing for those of us who like to collect fastpasses early, take the afternoon off, and then come back in the evening to use.

thats what we do as well..pick up a few, then back to resort swim etc, then return later that night to ride..this works for us Mickey, so please dont change it..:confused3

Gee, having encountered Fastpass fairly early in it's existence, we got knocked back a few times for being too early/too late, the too early ones always annoyed me because no-one was walking in with a Fastpass that late in the hour so it just wasn't being used. 5min early was too early, had to wait for on the hour, and there was always someone slipping through while the CM was telling someone else they couldn't go through because it was the wrong time.
