Hi there,

I don't know if this was mentioned yet, but wanted to address Corey's attempts to explain about Fastpass return time. Hopefully, I can help.

Once you get a Fastpass, you can get another one after one of the following happens:

* A minute passes after the first return time
Example: You get a Fastpass at 10:am, and the Fastpass return time is 10:45am - 11:45am. You can get an additional Fastpass at 10:46am (one minute after the first time on the pass)

* If the Fastpass return time is beyond 2 hours, then you can get another Fastpass 2 hours and 1 minute later.
Example: You get a Fastpass at 10:am, and the Fastpass return time is 1:55pm - 2:55pm. Since this is beyond 2 hours (12:noon), you can get another Fastpass at 12:01 (a minute after noon).

The magnetic strips on your tickets keep track of the times you get Fastpasses, so the "system" knows when your time is up.

Hope that helps. :flower:

Just to add they do it this way because they assume that you are going to return to use your fastpass as soon as you can! so there for when you get off the ride you no longer have the fastpass and can get another!

Mary Jo I thought you explained it well!!

Well that is quite interesting. I didn't even know that. I really thought that you couldn't get a 2nd FP until 2 hours after your 1st FP expired. I had no idea that you could get a 2nd FP 1 minute after your 1st FP expired when that was under 2 hours for the return time. Good to know! :thumbsup2

Not that one minute really matters, but I've never really seen an extra minute added on, although I probably didn't look quite as closely to the sub-two hour Fastpasses.

I've got a scan of a Fastpass on my Fastpass page that shows at the bottom that I got the pass at 6:46pm, and the next Fastpass time is 8:45pm, so it seems more like it was minus one minute...

If there is still confusion about using Fastpasses and how the times work, I recommend reading that page. Feel free to let me know if anything needs correcting/updating.

According to the guys on the WDW Today podcast, the FastPass for Lights, Motors, Action is NOT hooked up to the rest of the FastPass system and doesn't "count" if you have one. So you can hold a LMA FastPass and one for another ride/attraction at the same time.

This is true - I believe that LMA was always "disconnected" from the network, since there were only 2-3 show times anyways even if you got the FP first thing in the morning you'd have a 2 hour exclusion anyways.

But then again, I don't think they've used the Fastpass in quite a while. I know they had it in July 2006 ( we used it, and then got rained out), but were not using it in July or Dec 2007. I haven't heard of anyone seeing it in use as of late, and it just doesn't seem to be getting the crowds any more such that there is plenty of seating available. I don't see FP listed on the Disney web site for it any more.

In fact, any FP attraction could become "disconnected" (due to network or other communication problems), and if so you would be able to get another Fastpass for another attraction right away. It's rare though.

Are there strict with fastpass return window times or could I return say 4 hours after my window and still use it?

Well explained :thumbsup2
I enjoyed this segment and as Kevin said if you are confused so is someone else.
That is why having a team on the podcast makes the discussions much more interesting :goodvibes

The word is that it is general policy to allow late Fastpasses, so long as they are for the same day. Sometimes, however, notably at Soarin', they may deny a late Fastpass, especially if even the Fastpass line has a long wait. On some occasions, a CM may deny them for no particular reason.

You can NEVER be early, though.

I wanted to add also that when we were there last October, we had fastpasses that were for like 1-2:00 p.m. for Soarin. We were in the World Showcase at that time, so we didn't use them. Once we got into Future World, we went to Soarin and asked them if we could still use the expired Fast pass and they said "Absolutely!". The CM told us they allow you to use them in the same day, as long as you don't try to use them BEFORE the time for them.

Make sense?

Amy
