Fastpass return late?

You must return during the window. I'm sure there's an occasional CM who will take pity on a good story and let you in, but I wouldn't count on it.

As mom2rtk said, DLR is enforcing return times, so you should plan on returning during the time window printed on your FP. Unlike WDW, there is no official grace period either, so you may get a CM that won't let you in until the time window opens or may not let you use the FP if you're at all late. I agree that there are times when CMs will allow you use an expired FP, but it's not consistent and cannot be predicted, so I would not count on being able to do so.

We've slipped in about 5 minutes late with them without the CM batting an eye, but I was scared that they would mention it and not let us in. There isn't an official grace period, so we always plan on returning during the printed window. We were just running a tad late that time.

Only once did we come in a few minutes late on a FP at Space Mt. The CM looked at the tickets, gave us a look, and waved us in. We were worried for a moment.

But I'm glad they honor the times on the tickets. In the old days, the FP line would be loooooong because of all the people who knew the exception to the rule and would just come back during the evening. The FP was hardly fast. Glad they made the change.

I was told by a CM within the last month that they typically allow a fifteen-minute window. That is, they'll let you in up to 15 mins past your FP expiration. However, I'm not sure that's official/formal policy. Generally I find that if you're very nice about it and admit that you're aware that you're late, they'll let you in. Also, if they say no, take it with grace and a good attitude. You can always grab another FP.

FWIW, last Sunday I was about 10 mins late for my BL FP window. The CM was very kind and let me finish my tea at the FP line before going in. In fact, I stopped by Town Hall to make a guest commendation. She was very nice about everything.

One exception to the strict return time window: If you return to the ride during your return window, and the ride is down for any reason (happens a lot with Indy!) then they'll allow you to return any time later in the day.

While the late-return is totally YMMV (and probably more strictly enforced on busy things like RSR, Hyperspace Mountain, and new Soarin'), if you do have some slightly expired FPs, make sure the sweetest, cutest person in your group is the one presenting them to the CM. Just might help. :teeth:

And this is the only reason we don't get too grouchy with how often Space Mountain goes down. Sheesh. At least it means we can save the FPs for any time during the day.

We have had good luck with explaining why we were late for a FP window if we are just a bit outside of it. Or if something happened elsewhere in the park that made us late.

Thanks! We went well within our return windows with no issue. I was just checking as disneyworld long ago would let you come back at any time which made that mid day break and evening riding very easy. No worries, it all went well and we had a great time

That was DL's policy as well. They moved to the strict window times maybe a year after WDW.
