Fastpass+ question

I haven't tested fp+ yet as I haven't been to Disney since 2 years ago, so I had a question about FP+. When there were regular fastpasses what we used to do was I loved Splash mountain, and my family didn't much, so we took all 4 tickets and gotten 4 FP's for splash mountain and I myself rode it 4 times. The same with space mountain, everest, and kali.

With FP+ when you make ride reservations do you do it per person or per family or what? Because can I do a similar thing with FP+, make 4 person reservations, and go on it 4 times, P.S I hope it works.

I've heard that yes, you can. I've read about some people making a FP+ for all the people in their party for (example) Space Mountain and then one person just switches bands and rides over again. Haven't tried it myself though.

The magic band controls the fast pass. All you do when you go thru is put the band up to the scanner and if you have a fast pass on your magic band for that time slot it sends you through. So if you had a FP on all 4 bands and switched bands with others in your party, you'd be able to go through again.

We did the switch a couple weeks ago on Star Tours. My daughter didn't want to take it, so my son rode twice, first with my wife and then with me using his sister's band.

I have a FP+ question as well, so I figured I'd tack it on to this thread - hope that's ok!

Is there tiering at MK? If we want to use our 3 FP+s for Space, BTMR, and Splash for instance, can we do this? Also, can you book three FP+s for the same ride? (We really love Space Mountain!)

No tiering at MK yet. You cannot book FP+ for the same ride more than once a day: See the green link in my signature for more info.

No tiering at MK (yet!) and no you can't book more than one FP+ for the same ride (on the same day)

UGH. That sucks. Frick. But thanks, I will check out the link and read up on everything so I am 100% prepared! I know it's been a big hassle for lots of people but I am still so. fricken. excited!

Yes you can switch bands, though the CMs at the ride can see your name so if you're a guy and wearing a band with an obvious girls' name, they may say something to you about the wrong band, lol. There were a couple of rides I cannot ride, and hubby chose to go get a coffee with me so I double-booked some rides for the adult kids with us...I couldn't ride Big Thunder, and didn't want to ride Pirates on a recent trip. So I took our 4 bands, and booked the "kids" Big Thunder, booked husband & I for Pirates in the same hour. So the kids took all four bands, rode Big Thunder, then rode Pirates on our bands. That worked fine because they matched the names to the gender.:woohoo:

But the other thing to consider that will be totally different under the Fastpass+ system. ON the paper system, as soon as you used those fastpasses (or 2 hours elapsed) then all the tickets could be used for more fastpasses. Now, each ticket is limited to 3 fastpasses a day. Is your family really going to let you use up an 1/3 of the family fastpasses so you can ride one ride 4 times? Especially in the tiered parks where you might be blowing the family's only chance at a Tier 1 ride?

well to tell you the truth, my family is pretty scared of test track, mission space, and soarin. So I could use 2 FP+ for test track, and 2 for soarin, and mission space doesn't even count as a headliner, I am the only one that is able to ride soarin and test track, for illuminations, no point in having FP+, and for maelstrom the same, for character spot no one does that at all.

For hollywood studios, we have 2 days, and my family is scared of RnR and ToT so I will be able to ride those probably multiple times, and the other day we use toy story mania. We usually see the second fantasmic show, so i don't think I should bother with FP+ for fantasmic. And Beauty & the beast isn't a must do, so if we miss it its fine.
