hi! i'm heading out to disneyland for the first time, and i read the great threat already up concerning "DLR for WDW veterans", which really helped a lot! but one thing i wanted to ask is, is there a certain way i'd want to pick up fastpasses in terms of priority?

so like, for example, obviously i'd want to do GOTG at DCA first thing, then radiator springs, then california screamin. would that be a good priority in terms of getting the fastpasses i want, or would it be different? similarly, at DL i want to do indiana jones, matterhorn, space mountain, and haunted mansion holiday (and maybe pirates, since i've heard that's the better version of the ride). would it be easier to get indy or matterhorn earlier? or should i get fastpasses for those at all--i hear single rider might be simpler? for the record, i'm going with a party of four.

if i could get some advice here from experts, i'd appreciate it. thank you!!

I think a lot of the FP conventional wisdom at DLR has gotten upended over the last 6-12 months because of MaxPass, Guardians of the Galaxy, the introduction of "Instant FP", and the addition of several new FP rides.

Let's start at DCA as that is the easy one.

Yes, GOTG and RSR remain the big FPs to get and if you want to do those then they should be top priorities.

CA Screamin is usually NOT a FP priority for the simple reason that the standby (SB) line rarely gets long and the CS FP return windows are rarely more than 40 minutes out. I tink CS also has Instant FPs too.

However, with the end of CA Screamin as a ride early in 2018, the changeover to the Incredicoaster and the fact it will be down for several months that may cause a FP surge over the holiday season.

After GOTG and RSR, the next FP priorities are Soarin and TSMM. GRR is only a priority in the warmer months, and Goofy's Sky School is just not a popular ride. That kind of does it for DCA.

Over at DL things are more complex.

The consistent two top FP rides are Space Mtn and Indy. ST is a close #3. Splash is up there in the warmer months. HM is up there during the holidays.

After that the FPs are pretty easy to get all day long for BTMRR, Matterhorn, BLAB and Roger Rabbit.

Now IASW Holiday is offering FPs. I do not know the popularity of those.

Hope that helps!

that helps a lot! i'm going before CS closes, so i'll keep its popularity in mind. i'm surprised space mountain is as high as indy, since over here in WDW it's usually an easy fastpass to get within a day, but i'll also be sure to prioritize it! thank you!!
