American Idol 4:40
GMR 3:25
TOT 8:20
Little Mermaid 4:30

Will create some interesting decisions.

If I had done 1PM S Tours, 2PM TSM and 3PM TOT, then saw this at 3:06 I would prob grab RNR at 5:35, then watch B& Beast or something.

But if I had done 1PM S Tours, 2PM RNR and 3PM TOT would prob grab Fantasmic or TOT and go back to BCV maybe swim, rest get changed and dinner at Shulas while waiting.

Or do you grab GMR and take the chances on a 5th after-looks like you could.

But that could be a "win" in Disney's book. Now they can squeeze in 3001 extra guests per day. ;)

Thats kinda how we felt after using our 3 FP+ (no option for a 4th).. you rode your rides, now buy or eat something or get out! The standby lines were very long for us during our FP+ trip. I'm usually OK with anything under 30 min and even a few 40 min I can stomach but most were there or over... Once everyone had ridden (or were waiting for) their 3 top picks it was into the standby corrals. :crowded:

One could still make FP+ times for 10:30, 11:30 and 12:30, and potentially be able to schedule more FP+ after 12:30 (depending on availability), while still getting in a good 1.5 hrs of good RD SB riding.

Agreed - also, we see decent FP+ availability in the afternoon now, but that is likely to drop off once guests are able to book more than 3. It is my opinion that so many are still available now because of the limit of 3/day. We'll still be fine later in the day during value season, but I doubt that there will be much afternoon availability during more crowded times of the year. So you might be rushing only to find that there isn't much left worth rushing for.

We just have to wait and see.

Watching y'all discuss from afar on how to make a trip to my once beloved DisneyWorld work anymore..

Good luck.

Simple solution from me, would be bring back old fastpasses -> get there early and tour, pick up fastpasses as you go if you don't want to wait in line and more importantly extend park hours to 1 or 2am like back in the old old days. Thus if you wanted to sleep in you could get there late and stay very late with shorter lines and temps..
But nope.

In the meantime good luck trying to work in the madness you have been caged in. I'll be at the better capacity parks and I'll patiently wait for "a" simpler solution to emerge here later after the mania wears off.

I think at some point, Disney will go back to the old fastpass or come up with yet another new system. I don't think they will do it based on a few complaints. I already voiced my complaint by emailing Disney, but it will take A LOT of complaints for them to even consider doing anything. I think they will learn the hard way. They will keep this fp+ system for a while until they see that people are cancelling their trips, or more are staying offsite (as I don't see a huge benefit of staying on site anymore). They are not going to go back until they test it out a while and see that it won't work and many people don't like it. I myself am strongly considering to not go to Disney next year as planned, and instead taking a much less stressful Disney cruise. That way I still get my Disney fix, but don't have to deal with all the nonsense.

There is simply no way to have "more fast passes" and "shorter lines" at the same time. As one gets better the other will get worse.

Your absolutely right. So it should make us wonder what was the point of changing what was working before? It doesn't benefit guests at all. It just benefits Disney.

I think they'll hear more complaints if they limit FPs beyond the first three to "anything below tier 1 that you haven't already used a FP for".

As I wrote above, I just picked ours for our next trip, and in the tiered parks, it was difficult to even pick the lower tiered rides.

I'm still not going to reserve 3 of the earliest slots and race for the 4th though, at least not in a tiered park. That might change depending on first-hand reports.

In MK, A&E screwed up the idea of getting early FPs because the earliest I could get was 1:30pm 60 days out.

I REALLY REALLY hope they do not offer the 4th and so on fastpasses for only certain tiers. I already find this whole system extremely confusing and have literally gotten a headache reading the threads on all this just to figure out how to best take advantage of this. It would be even more confusing to only be able to pick "extra" fastpasses from certain tiers.

I think at some point, Disney will go back to the old fastpass or come up with yet another new system.

The system as designed today is far from permanent, but they will not be going back to the old system. That system only helped guests - it did not help Disney.

You have a good point, but would they rather lose people all together and have people cancel their trips over this system? This is making a lot of people stress and change their plans. I don't think this will work out well for Disney in the long run.

If I were a betting man, I would bet heavily against Disney crowds dropping as a result of the implementation of this system.

Thank you very much! This is very interesting. I wish I knew what would be in effect in June when we are there!

True, but if they give everyone these 3 "anytime-passes" then the incentive becomes the opposite. Then the goal would be to book your 3 Fast Passes late

why would the goal become book your fp's late? and if all the time slots get booked, then it doesn't matter...early times will get booked just like later times...that's the beauty of planning ahead...people will fill in the weak spots.

Been gone for a while. Good to see all the data and strategies. I see all the data that you guys pulled earlier today. Touring Plans dot com rated today as an overall "4" on their crowd calendar. So.............the availability today is what you might see on a somewhat slow day.

1) Remember to take into account the amount of time it may take to locate and stand in an FP+ kiosk line for the 4th, 5th and 6th FP. How much time will that take?

2) Also, I'm wondering if people shift their thinking to trying to get all their FPs done early, will SB lines in the a.m. balloon even quicker?

3) What will people do who use their first 3 FPs by noon and then can only pull about 1 FP per hour? Does that mean you'll only ride one attraction per hour for the rest of the evening, because that only works out to about a dozen rides, which is about an average amount to ride in a day (I think.)

4) Do you suppose there's a group of WDW employees sitting in a board room somewhere coming up with all these various scenarios and strategies as they decide how to adjust the FP+ system? If so, what do you think their objective or mission statement is in making adjustments to the system?

I'm going to assume this is going to take quite a bit of time. In this case, is it worth standing in this line plus the fastpass return line? Is it actually saving people any time? If not, whats the point? :confused3

2) Also, I'm wondering if people shift their thinking to trying to get all their FPs done early, will SB lines in the a.m. balloon even quicker?

I think rope drop and the mornings will be busier. Not everyone agrees. But it does make some sense to use your 3 reserved fastpasses in the morning and get more later in the day. However, the fastpasses will be limited by then.

I think it can be safe to assume that people will likely be on less attractions than before. Stand by lines are longer, fp return lines are longer plus you have to wait in the kiosk lines unless Disney starts allowing people to make those extra fp reservations from their phones. In addition, you will only get whats left of fastpasses. I'm guessing there won't be much especially in summer or Christmas break meaning if you have your heart set on a particular attraction, you will have no choice but to wait stand by. Even if Disney holds 40% of fastpasses for day of, how likely is it your gonna get what you want at the time you want?

4) Do you suppose there's a group of WDW employees sitting in a board room somewhere coming up with all these various scenarios and strategies as they decide how to adjust the FP+ system? If so, what do you think their objective or mission statement is in making adjustments to the system?

Of course there are, and they are going to have to make more changes to this system because I don't see how this is going to work.

Just checked MK again. Still some FPs available, including PP and ETWB. At 10:46 pm, the system gave me PP with a 10:50 return time. The wait time app shows a 30 minute wait, so not a bad deal.

They really need to hurry up and implement the 4th FP thing, so I can see what happens in the next 7 weeks.

I liked the old FP system. Did not see anything wrong with it. Put me on the list of looking at other options than going to Disney this year. I for sure won't go when it is busy..Who do you complain to by e-mail?

Cool..................we go live on April 28th!

Please post your experiences and choices here so others can figure out a strategy for their trip!
