Got the post card in the mail on Tuesday hit up the website that night, had the FastPass+ cards in the mail on Thursday......Figured we'd give it a try....:cool1:

We received ours in the mail yesterday also. We leave a week from Sunday.
We have 2 reservations and received cards for both of them.

I don't understand how they work since it says we can change our picks anytime. If that's so, how are they loaded on the cards we received?
Guess I'm just not tech savvy :confused3 :lmao:

Think if it this way - the cards basically have a number on it that identifies your reservation (probably also identifies you so no one else can use it). When you scan it into the system that number will be linked to your reservation. The details of the reservation in the computer may change but the identifying number will not.

The KTTW card works the same way. The card doesn't carry all your info, just basic identifier info that the computer can use to retrieve things like your dining plan credits and credit card number.

Got our cards yesterday - was quite surprised how quickly they arrived considering we are in Canada! No confirmation email was received when I put in the reservations so it was a relief to see them in the mail!;)

We are a party of 8 with three rooms reserved. Two of the parties got an e-mail about the trial fastpasses. Since we are all going to the parks together, we were a little upset since the family with the small children didn't get the e-mail. However, within a week, all three of the parties got a post-card to try the new fastpass option. We all went on the website(after many phonecalls for help...passwords had to be re-set because it kept saying that someone has that e-mail! Duh! I have that e-mail!) It ended up that all three of us went on the website together & we chose our options(as we talked on the phone together about the options we were choosing). We received the fastpass cards(like a credit card) within two days. They did limit the days, times, & it is for 4 fastpasses/person & it is only for the Magic Kingdom. Even though our individual hour time slots are not the same, we can all go together at a certain time within the hours that we chose. So, it worked out for our party of eight:banana:
I will let you know how everything goes when we return.

I recieved an email from AAA on the 13th that we had been selected for FastPass +. I went online and selected the activities that we wanted.

On the 14th I recieve in the snail mail FastPass + info with cards with a different reservtion number !?!?!? When I signed on with the new info there was nothing chosen. I picked 4 more activities that we would like to have FastPasses.

My AAA agent scanned the FastPass + info and emailed it to me. It looks exactly like the snail mail and has the cards attached to it also. We arrive on the 20th.

My questions are.... Did somehow I get selected twice? Will I have 8 FastPasses instead of the 4? Did I get some Pixie Dust or am I doing something wrong?

I got the email when I was away on Sept 4th. I just got back yesterday (non disney trip) and I can't seem to log in. It just keeps thinking and thinking.

I have not received anything in the mail yet, but I called and they said I could pick them up at the Magical Express desk at the airport if I don't get them in time

Update: I had to use another browser (google chrome) but I finally got in. The parades and fireworks are full :( Oh well, I picked 4 rides that I won't have to get regular fast passes for.

Arrived today at AoA - wonderful! Tomorrow POR! Just before we left got a card in the mail inviting us to try out FastPass Plus ... an email and now a card ... ! Will be trying it out on Sunday - hopefully it won't rain ... :)

We did our FastPass + last night. Didn't make it to our first one (Jungle Cruise) ... second one was the Haunted Mansion. You go to the FastPass lane and the CM have you tap your blue FastPass+ card against the Mickey Mouse head logo that is on a pole ... the head glows green and off you go :thumbsup2

For the MSEP and Fireworks, we weren't too sure where to go ... asked one CM and she said there is no such thing as FP for the MSEP ... we showed her the FP + cards which she had never heard of before. She directed us to another CM who then directed us to a third who then informed us it was in front of the Castle. The front part of the circular square in front of the Castle is roped off for FP+ guests and they have a number of CMs there "guarding" that area. There is two line-ups and then when the time comes to let FP+ guests in, the CM have portable scanners to scan your card.

Unfortunately our CMs in our line had malfunctioning scanners so our line-up was getting a bit antsy. We finally got through and got front row-seats in facing the castle. You could not leave the area though unless the CM recognized you and let you back in. It was a great spot for seeing the MSEP.

Before the MSEP was over, they took down the roped section so everything was open for the fireworks. We stayed where we were and had a great view of the fireworks ... this is the first time we've done the fireworks here at MK so was surprised to see that a number of fireworks went off behind the castle ... but then if you're in front of the castle, you get to see Tinkerbell "fly" etc ...

There were people trying to get into the FP+ area or slip under the ropes but were turned away ... people were asking how to get the FP+ ... there was even one lady who was told that she could get access in and said she had been told so by other CMs but the CM would not let her in because she did not have the FP+. It was quite a "conversation" but the CM stood his ground.

We liked the idea of FP+ :thumbsup2

So for you did not move over to the Wishes FP area, right? You just stayed where you were through MSEP, Castle show and Wishes?

So you were on the hub, facing the castle? Was there room for everyone to be "front row" for the parade?

Thanks so much. This is exactly the info I've been looking for. Crossing my fingers this is operational in Dec.

I'm curious about this part. Did you go through the cemetery line (to the left) or the original line (to the right), and were only FP+ holders going through the original line?

Thanks!

Did not see a Wishes FP area ... by the time the MSEP parade was over, all the CMs "guarding" the MSEP FP+ area were gone as they had taken down the ropes outlining the FP+ reserved area. I had read before about Tinkerbell :tinker: making an appearance in front of the Castle, so we stayed where we were. At the very front of the Castle, a number of strollers were parked there and then people began sitting behind those awaiting the fireworks.

  • Yes, we were in the hub facing the castle.
  • There were two line-ups to get into the FP+ area ... we were in the left line. Our line did not start moving in until a bit later as CMs had problems with their hand scanners ... people in our line were getting antsy as the concern was all the front row viewing area would be taken up. No problem ... we got FRONT ROW.
  • As this is a "ticketed" area, I would assume that Disney would be aware and would only allow a certain number of groups in.
  • You are correct, we were in the hub facing the castle ... everybody was sitting down so people behind you could see also
  • I could not find anyone to ask if there was a FP+ for the fireworks ... by the time the MSEP parade was over, the fireworks were about to begin in 20 minutes.
Hope this helps ;)

Thanks!

It was the line to the right (actually it was NO line) we just motored on right through - bypassed the long line on the left. We were the only FP+ holders when we went. My DW was on a scooter so we met up with a group that went on the elevator and once off, a CM took us through another route where we parked the scooter and then walked to where people were getting off the ride and we got on ... when we exited the ride, we saw another couple waiting at the spot where the CM picked us up after we parked the scooter so I assume they were also FP+ invitees. ::yes::

OFF TO MNSSHP TONIGHT!!!

The FP + area was in front of the Plaza restaurant ...looked like a great spot! We didn't stay for fireworks because DD3 was having an EPIC meltdown!

We just returned from Disney and we used our Fastpass + cards last Thursday for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Peter Pan, Jungle Cruise and the Haunted Mansion. We booked all of these attractions between 1-4pm and we were still able to secure regular fastpasses as well.

We needed to scan our cards at the entrance to the ride and again right before we boarded the ride. There are 5 people in my family, so we had to complete 10 scans for each ride. Honestly, between the regular cards and these cards I was a little nervous that I was going to lose something.

It worked well for us because we had a late breakfast booked at the castle and we booked the Wishes Dessert party in the evening, so I was positive we would be staying there all day. If we needed to do this level of planning for every day of our trip and every park, it would be a little frustrating. We enjoyed it, though...as we were able to get on a lot more rides in the afternoon than we would have otherwise.
