As we approach our first trip in 4.5 years I am unsure how all the reserving fast passes ahead of time works. We will be staying on property most of the time. My main question is if we are visiting two parks in one day how do fast passes work? We get three to reserve ahead of time correct? Can we get a Fastpass for Toy Story Midway Mania at DHS in the morning and then two others for Epcot later or do they all have to be in one park? After the first three then you can try getting some as you go along through the day, is that right.
Thanks for any explanations.

1. Yup.
2. Nope.
3. Yup.
4. More or less. It can be as simple as that, or you can just use one or two at the first park, THEN,
book the next one at the next park.

All of this info and so much more in the FastPast Forum, HERE.

You can get a FP+ for Toy Story and once you've used it, you can get one for a ride at Epcot. Unfortunately, you can't split your FP+ choices between parks in advance.

My main suggestion to you would be to pick the park you're going to early in the day and make your 3 FP reservations as early as possible. Once you leave your 3rd and final ride get on the MDE app right away and see if there's anything available for your 2nd park. You'll only be able to schedule 1 FP for that park at a time and more than likely Soarin' or TT may be gone by that time.

It's a bit difficult to get FPs done for two different parks in a day realistically.

Thanks. I figured it would be something like that. :)

Other option is to schedule FP+ for your second park in the afternoon (in this case Epcot), so you'll have FP for your Tier 1 of choice. And, in the morning, rope drop to get to TSMM, and then ride stand by and see shows until it's time to take the boat to Epcot.

I was thinking that might be an option as we want to do Frozen Ever After, Test Track and Soarin at Epcot and the only big deal at DHS would be Toy Story! :) Thanks.

Problem with that plan is that Epcot has tiered fastpasses. You will only be able to pick 1 FP for a tier 1 in advance, and all three of those are tier 1.

Outside of waiting in really long lines, the only way to ride all 3 tier 1s in one day is to FP either Frozen or TT, ride which ever of those 2 you didn't FP at rope drop, and then head to Soarin right away. Soaring has enough capacity with the 3rd theater that the waits don't get crazy right away.

You could get a Toy story FP for the afternoon, and do Epcot in the morning.
rope drop frozen
ride test trek in single rider line
ride soarin
then go to HS for your toy story FP

You could also make EP FPs and try this:
Make FP for space ship earth at 9:00
Make FP for test trak at 10
make FP for mission space at any time
ride frozen at rope drop. ON the way, tap in the FP for space ship earth, but don't ride it. this will clear it from your MDE
while walking, move your mission space FP to 9:15
tap into to mission space on way to frozen, but don't ride
ride frozen stand by
ride test trak with FP. as soon as you check in, try to get TSMM FP
ride soarin stand by

Unfortunately, this plan would be a lot of effort, and not guarantee TSMM would be available to book at 10.

Because our schedule is a bit more complex than usual (we are visiting the parks with two different sets of family at different times) we do have two days scheduled at both parks but they are split up. I did expect to wait in Standby for a few rides and don't mind. Tryind to learn the Fastpass plus is the hard part. :)
