FASTPASS Ignorance Abounds

But we're excited to have a little baby again. The baby swap passes are unbeatable (up to 4 others and good anytime that day).

Sorry if this is a dumb question but is this something different from the child swap? Are the child swap passes good all day as well?

With the FP, apparently you bypass the regular themed queue which has a talking Mr. Potato Head, among other things, I'm sure.

Now personally, I would love to see the regular queue with Mr. Potato Head, but not at the price of a 90 minute wait! No way. I will FP next week, miss Mr. Potato Head and hope that at some point in the future (like one of our January vacations), we will be able to take the regular line with no or little wait. I would ride standby at RD to see the whole thing, but we're on SWW character mission next week ...:worried:

Yea I'm not sorry I missed it because of using the FP although I would like to see it sometime. Maybe by my next trip the newness will have worn off and the stand by line won't be so bad.

Were you at WDW the last week of April/first week of May? We were at Epcot on April 29th, I was waiting in line with DD5 for Test Track up by the loading area and saw a man with a young boy outraged with a CM. He was carrying on and making a scene. Could this have been the same man?

Sounds like a different dad, unless he also tried it a few days before. I was there May 3rd-10th. This guy really went ballistic when the CM told him single riders would be split up and he couldn't ride with his son. For some reason he thought that just meant one would be in the front seat and one in the back seat of a car:rolleyes1 .

baby swap, child swap, rider switch...all the same thing. They are good through the day b/c when the first rider(s) of your group get off, the other part of your group can go then or later if something has come up.

Hydro, you know I've only been to DLR so far, but I don't even try to give FPs away anymore. I've been so lucky in that I've only been during quiet times (even Memorial Day and the week following!) and FPs just haven't been needed, especially since DLR has so many excellent Single Rider lines (which we use over FP or rider switch). So we collect them just in case, and then don't use them (we're part of that statistic, LOL), and I just bring them home. I think I'll start a collection. :goodvibes

OK, I will have a LGMH on my red Baggallini. I'll be there in Sept. I will take any FPs. I've never used one, but I get it. Look for me before you throw them away.:rotfl2:

Eh, I'm glad that most people seem pretty clueless about FP :duck: Makes touring the parks so much easier for me :thumbsup2

This whole topic is pretty amusing. So funny how what is a lifestyle to most of us dis people is something so foreign to others! I do remember, (anyone else?) when the FP's first started that it had to be a hopper ticket or something like that. Or perhaps you even had to be a guest of WDW. It didn't last long but there were some restrictions on it. Maybe some of the PP's experiences came from people with that idea. All I can say is bring on the FP's! 4 weeks from today I am in Epcot! :)

i feel like when FP started you could only get like 2 per day..but obviously that rule has changed ( if it ever existed! ) at any rate I'll be park hopping around Disney AUgust 27- Sept 3....if anyone is there and has any left over fast passes I'll be MORE than willing to take those off of your hands :lmao: honest!!!! Sometimes i think people may be cautious because they don't understand and they think and they take them and loose their place in line and the tickets are fake or onlyn good for certain people ( I.E. WDW resort guests or certain type ticker holders (AP/Park Hopper) ) then they wuold have to wait in the standby line all over again? I dont know, my thought would be to take them say thanks and then inspect them once the person walks away :rotfl2:

We're there August 26th - Sept 4th!!!! Maybe we'll see you! If so, I'll give you any leftover FPs I have!

I forget what attraction it was for but on eone of our trips, me and my df weren't going to use 2 FP we had that day bc 2 members of out party decided to leave early. We gave the FP's to a couple who looked like they could use them. They said thank you and took them but as I turned my head back to look at them while we were walking away, they had this confused look on their face like they were trying to figure out what they were. I remember being really frustrated bc I would have rather them go to someone who could really appreciate them.:scared1:
