fastpass+ feedback?

I'd love to hear anyone's feedback regarding their experiences using the new fastpass+. I've been going to WDW since I was a kid, and have planned many family vacations there. This year, I am extra stressed about the planning needed behind fastpass+ where the selection of rides is concerned. I'm frustrated about the rides being placed into categories, and the limitations of being able to choose them in one park only per day, (what's the point of a park hopper ticket then?)
I'd love to hear some positive things to relieve my concern, but would also appreciate honesty if experiences haven't been so fabulous - so we can have realistic expectations.

My wife and I went to MK two weeks ago and booked some FPs. We used the FP+ area in Liberty Square. We walked right up to a CM booked our FPs and were on our way. Overall, a very good experience. We're both AP holders and can't wait to try and book some advance FPs.
